Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

I haven't done official exercise today or yesterday, but I spent 40min shovelling snow yesterday so I'm considering that my exercise. My sleep patterns are wacked out and I've having trouble getting to sleep at night, which shouldn't be a problem since I've reduced my coke drinking. :confused3

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get back on the WiiFit or the exercise bike. I've been drinking plenty of water, so that's a success. I've stayed away from the chocolates so that's another sucess. I'm learning to stay focussed on the small successes and not to give up after a small slip up. I had a coke this evening and really want another one, but its not worth it. I want to be healthy more than another coke.

Keep up the good work everybody!:goodvibes

I can't keep up with the posts here, but thought I would give a little update. I have been doing good exercising (either gym or wii fit) and eating pretty well, no huge slip ups... but I can feel it coming, so I have been trying to drink more water and make myself drink a whole glass before I can have what I want -- eventually I will be so full of water I wouldn't be able to eat anything else!

Good luck everyone.

So yesterday went really well!!!!

I kept my self motivated and worked out when I got off of work! I can't believe I spent 13 hours in the same building!

I did really well with eating (I"m tracking it though my fitness pal online)

I went 1.73 miles in 25 minutes last night on the TM. It was week 2 of the couch 2 5K program!

Keep up the great work losers!

I do not believe that we have a challange this first week. The challanges will be posted to this thread usually on Thursday for a Friday start date (correct me if I am wrong). So keep an eye out for them.

Thank you. Thought I might just be overlooking it, or not looking in the correct thread.

Vicksburg, huh? I'm pretty close to you, down here in Sturgis.

Our first week is coming to a close. How are you doing? I am still struggling. I am not on the wagon yet as Oprah would say. Doesn't that sound stupid being on or off the wagon? What does being on a wagon have to do with it? This is not a temporary journey on a wagon. This is a lifestyle change. This is learning to eat and enjoy food in a whole different manner because what I have done in the past is not working for me. I will not be doing this for a certain amount of time I will be living a healthier lifestyle for the rest of my life or I will be dead.

I hope to update our participant list sometime today. I am still waiting on initial weights for those that have expressed interest on the thread. You are not officially a part of the challenge until I have your weight.

Our usual weigh in day is Friday. If you have another day of the week that you do your weigh in you can report that weight to me. Just be consistent and weigh in on the same day each week. I must have your weight by Monday morning to include it in the weekly tabulations. If you are late send in your weight as soon as possible. I will use it in the weekly tabulations if I can.

With over 100 participants I am not looking forward to tabulations this week. Each report from you is copied and pasted into a word document for my records. I often have to go back and check reports that I am concerned about. Each report is formatted in New Times Roman size 12 font and black color. I record the date and time of each report. Am I crazy? You betcha.

Your weight is recorded on the BL7 spread sheet. Each week there are columns for your weekly loss, your cumulative lose, and your percentage of weight lost for the week. The top losers of the week will be recognized on our thread in my weekly official report. I also include stats on how our group is doing as a whole.

In my reports as I recognize our losers I also like to include their first name with their screen name. I have a list of some first names already but today I will come out and ask:

Thursday Question of the Day - What is your first name?

If you are uncomfortable sharing this information then please do not. I just like to feel that we are all friends here helping each other along the way. So far I am seeing a lot of Lisas and we even have several men. Men stand up and be counted today. I think I see three. Do we have any couples this time around?

This is your place to share and socialize. Don't be shy like me. All contributions are welcome. You do have something to contribute to the group. Thank you to those that have stepped in to make others feel welcome here. I have not been a great hostess. For some reason I though recording initial weights would not take so much of my time. I was wrong. Between that and adding new people it has been a busy week for me. Now if I could just get my eating under control I will be all in. My tummy hurts this morning from my late night binging session. It was not pretty. Why do I do this to myself? I will not have a loss this week and that is what I am here for. I have many mental issues that I need to address. This certainly is a journey with many revelations and small steps along the way.

During the summer I got involved in a WISH journal for a woman trying to get her eating under control and live a healthier life for her and her daughter. She regularly posted for two months. At the end she was struggling and then the posts stopped. She has not checked in since October. I think of her often and wonder how she is doing. She had a profound pearl of wisdom I would like to share.

I keep looking at yesterday and telling myself that if I did it yesterday, then I can do it today.

So many of you are off to a great start. Keep up the good work today. If you did it yesterday you can do it today. If you did not do well yesterday (like me) today is a new day and only you can determine how successful you will be today. Remember you hold the fork and you can put it down when you know you should.

Have a healthy day!

Good Morning Losers! How is everyone doing? Last chance workout today before our weigh in tomorrow. I have been getting in all of my exercise, and really not snacking, which is great!:thumbsup2

But odly enough the scale has been really up and down. On Tuesday it was way down from my original weigh in last friday and I was so happy...:thumbsup2 Now for some odd reason it is up by 3# from Tuesday (but still down from Friday) a 3# shift seems to be alot.:confused3 Oh well, I guess the lesson learned for me is to try and limit my weigh ins to Friday, because if I maintain where I am right now, I had a good loss, but I will probably be dissapointed because I saw a lower number on Tuesday. BUT if I hadn't seen that number on Tuesday, I probably would have been thrilled with the number I am at.

My name is Carol. (Although that one might have been easy)

Even though I am suppose to weigh on the same day every week I cheated and weighed today. I won't be here on Friday. Down 1.5 pounds. Not bad, not outstanding but I will take it! I will PM our fearless leader tomorrow so as not to confuse her too much!

Of course, Friday just is an issue for me, won't be here next Friday either, that one's coming on Saturday? SORRY!

!

Lisa here:rotfl2: hmm are the rest of you Lisa's in your 30's also?

Question for those really out of shape.. what are you favorite work out videos? I need to start exercising.. I got the diet down and doing great with that. I have one of those gliders machines in the basement but I havent been able to get into it. I think I need something to keep me more focused. I have set of the Jillian Michaels dvds but that set requires one of those step benches and I keep trying to find deal on one.

As you can probably tell from my user name, one of the Lisas reporting in.

I am in my 40's :goodvibes I like the Leslie Sansone walking DVDs. Don't need anything special just walk around.

And, LuvBaloo, I think snow shoveling definitely counts as exercise, as does any activity. Heck, I even count vacuuming!

Everyone is doing so well, I am looking forward to seeing the weigh in results tomorrow. And, thank you, Brenda for all your hard work!

So far, so good. Even though I can't do any major exercise (per dr's orders), DD and I walked around the neighborhood last night and did 0.8 miles. Once this back muscle heals, hopefully I'll start jogging again.

As far as eating healthy, it's been a big of a struggle, but I've stayed true. It seems my hardest thing to do is eat breakfast -- in the past, I've always just skipped it, which resulted in eating lots of snacks and overeating at lunch.

My name is Steve. My wife Amy is also doing the challenge. Her screen name is Cinderelly516.

Checking in this AM...Good Morning....got 30mins of wii in plus so arm exercises with weights. Water has been great all week. Eating has been pretty good. Unfortunately I work until 930pm 2 nights a week with no real time to eat during my shift. I do have to eat something when I get home as I'm starved. I've tried to keep it health as possible.

We shall see what the scale says tomorrow.

PS My first name is Kimball

Tammy:lmao:

So far so good...it isn't raining today so I believe the walk at the track will happen this evening with DH. Did get on the elliptical yesterday (just really don't like it though) and did some sit ups and push ups too.

Off to refill my water and get back to the school work with the kids...have a great day everyone!!:cheer2:

Thanks for all of the support. I guess I was just having an off day yesterday. Today was much better. I think it helped that last night I went through and cleaned up the kitchen a bit. I also journalled my dinner before I left school today, which made me feel obligated to eat it even though I overslept my nap. I also made my omelette for tomorrow morning in advance so I can just pop it in the microwave. I am not a morning person! Since I live alone, I cooked up several portions then divided it out to make multiple meals, which also helps a lot.

I'll be weighing in tomorrow and while I am not confident that I've lost weight since my last weigh in (Christmas Eve), I do think I have lost since last week which is a start.
I'm glad that yesterday was better and you are still with us. I like the strategy of writing down your dinner in the morning. What a great idea! Good luck with the weigh in!

Thursday Question of the Day - What is your first name?

Sarah

Hello, All...this is my first time posting on this thread and, as noted above, my name is Sarah. My login is runswithscissors because I do, in fact, run with scissors.

Anyway, I live in the DC Metro, have been married to my husband, Josh, for 8 years and we have a six-year old son, Hunter. When I met my husband I weighed 172 lbs (I'm 5'8") and when we got married I weighed 155 lbs. At the start of the year I weighed in at 231.6 lbs and can't tell you the last time I've had my picture taken with my son. I resolve to lose the weight and return to the healthy woman I was. We are returning to WDW in 16 weeks and I would like to lose 35 lbs by then (I tend to have big losses initially then slow down to about 2 lbs a week after a month or so.) My ultimate goal is between 160 and 165 lbs (I'll know when I get there.)

Well, best wishes to all!

Welcome, Sarah! Congrats on joining our group!
Today is a good day. I worked out this morning and ate a sensible breakfast! Resisting food has been so hard for me this week!

Don't worry about it! I'm sure we'll see more (and more importantly LESS) of you once things start rolling. {{hugs}}
