DHSsenior007, sounds really great!!!!! I am glad you did something to "Give Back" to the community.

Danauk, LONDON BEAT PARIS!!!!! I think we are all gonna come visit you for a MONTH during the OLYMPICS!!!!!:rotfl2:

OK, I'm kidding, but it might be an excuse to have the city cleaned up.....

castlegazer, WOW, sounds like an experience.....

Good Morning all.....

:jumping2:

Hi guys,

Things were quite wierd at work today. We had a briefing from the head about the results of the inspection. The teaching was very good but the management needs working on a lot. So then I and the rest of the senior team had a 2 hour meeting with the head this afternoon. That turned out to be a good thing as we finally might be able to get her to make some much needed changes. But like I kept reminding myself, only 9 days left with my current class and most of those days are either trips, party days or sports days!! Then its 6 weeks off!!

So London won the 2012 Olympic bid. We were talking about it at school this afternoon. I know it is 7 years away but I will definatlely go and see some of it.

DHSsenior007 your mission trip sounds wonderful. My friend went on a 6 month mission in her gap year after school before going to college. She went to Peru to help build new houses and a new church. She too had a wonderful time.

Well tonight I finally get a night in to relax. Pete however is at the theatre at a dress rehearsal for a show. The school he used to work at are doing Singing in the rain and they are paying him to come back and help out in the band.

Danauk, when do you make your play for power...

Danauk, Head Mistress!!!!!
;) ;) ;)

:jumping2:

Oh no, the one thing that the past few days have taught me is that I never want to be a headmistress. The pressure our head is now under is unreal. I realise now her job is so much more about politics and paperwork than actually giving children an education. I think that is really sad. I think I'll stick to being a classroom teacher.

Ohanafamily, I added to your wedding thread.

Hi everyone - I'm just stopping by for a quick hello before I take Stephanie to her swim lessons.

Our 4th of July party went okay. The weather was not in our favor because the beginning of our party was a wind storm and the end of our party was rain. DH and our neighbor still did their firworks in the rain and we watched outside with our umbrellas. Oh well...you can't control the weather right?!

Danauk - I'm sorry your work is so stressful right now. I hope it all gets better real soon!!

DHSsenior007 - it was great reading about your mission trip. I've said this before - you're parents must be so proud of you. You really are a great teen and I can tell you are going to be a great adult someday too. Keep up the good work.

Okay - I gotta run!! Have a good night and a great tomorrow!!

slo

All this olympic talk got me thinking of a question of the day.

If you were able to go to watch any olympic events what would you go and see?

I think I would like to take my girls in my netball team at school to see some netball played. I also wouldn't mind going to see some track and field myself and perhaps some swimming.
Most of all though I would love to go to the opening ceremony. I would love the theatre of it all.

Track and field definately. I would love to see that.

We just got back from swim lessons and I saw the question of the day.

I would take Stephanie to see the gymnastics.

:flower: Just enjoying NC Beast's and mine 9th anniversary. I thought about recreating our first meal that we had alone as man and wife...but, I don't care for Burger King's whopper meals now. ::MinnieMo

He made me some great very chocolatey brownies last night. :goodvibes

Oh...I would love to go see the opening and closing ceremonies in London---see gymnastics, swimming events, and the crew.

On our honeymoon there was a hurricane threatening FL and Fran hit 2 months later---->9 years later....a lot of tropical threats and now Hurricane Dennis...
We were in Pompano Beach for like 3.5 days and decide that we should go have fun in Disney. We did not have a hotel booked for the Disney part---we could have stayed on site for like $77 bucks (1996), but we were on a budget so we stay at the Sleep Inn by the now defunct Splendid China. We ate mostly off site too because we had a lot of gift certificates for McDonald's and the Outback. We had hot dogs at Casey's and ate another counter service (it might have been like Cosmic Ray's). We almost ate at King Stefan's buffet, but we ate at Alfredo's and Rose and Crown Pub at Epcot. There were only like MK, Epcot, and the Studios.Would we go to WDW again without ressies for hotel and meals----No Way. (I miss the video system that Epcot had in 1996 for same day ressies)

I was like 23 when I got hitched and now my cousin (Dad's baby sister's daughter) is getting married next month at 22. :flower:

I forgot to mention in my previous post that when NC B. and I came back from our honeymoon-----people kept on asking on how it was when Hurricane Bertha brushed the FL Coast. We replied many times: "'What hurricane?" We were so "nutrasweet"/sappy. It was only like some down pours in WDW at that time.

We love to go again in the fall or winter---it was so much more enjoyable weather wise.

Good evening all, some of the stories over there are soooo funny. Oh, and Remember NC Belle, RRBB is allergic to Pork, so if you must throw a Pork chop at us, aim for me... I at least can eat it.....

:jumping2:

I think I was suppose to not throw the burnt chops. I honestly don't remember the day too well---my glass was never empty at my reception. My Dad only paid for a champagne toast so people were paying to do it on their own.

Opening and Closing ceremonies, gymnastics, kayaking (that was too cool in Greece!), and probably beach volleyball. I am more of a fan of the winter Olympics, though.

Danauk,

I hope all is well in your part of the UK...

Lots of PD to you...

:jumping2:
