I will be going to Disneyland next week. Woohoo!

Please let me know of your experiences taking the Welcome to Disneyland Tour. I am trying to decide if it's worth the $25. I am a first-timer to DLR.

it is very good i enjoyed it with my dh and ds lots of little things that made it extra special

I called DLR today to book the tour. It's only offered on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I will be there Wednesday & Thursday. It figures!

if you have disney visa or triple a card you can get a discount too!

I called today and I guess they no longer off a discount. My husband's cousin sent me the tour information (he recently started working at Disneyland) and that information said you get a discount but today they had no clue what I was talking about. :confused3

Try calling back and ask to speak to a supervisor. Sometimes the CMs act clueless if you sound like you're fishing for information. Sound like you expect a discount.

I noticed online it only mentions the Deluxe and Premium AP discounts for the Welcome tour, but Disney Visa discount (along with D&P APs) is mentioned for the Walk in Walt's Footsteps. Sounds like they have different discounts for different tours?

If I'm only gonna be there one day, a Monday in July, is this tour a good use of time to get me in or nearer certain attractions, assuming it will be "summer-crowded"?
(this is my first trip to DL in 40 years, and I want to see as much as possible. Was thinking maybe having a guide would help...???)

You could try a VIP tour, though that would be $$$$$$ without others to split it with you. :)

When I did my solo trip for 2 partial days, I just did what I wanted to do, no tours, and had fun. Though there's a bit of a difference between late January and July! :rolleyes1

Tours can be really fascinating and a lot of fun. However, they are also very time consuming. If you have 3-5 days, than take a tour, otherwise, I think you can get the the lay of the land by studying a park map in depth from home before you even arrive. I did that for WDW in 2006 and knew the layout of the parks even though I hadn't been there in over 10 years.

Trip planning can help you learn a lot without having to pay for and take the time of a tour.
