Hi guys,

Well Im 8 weeks to go and I said I woudnt do the welcome pack thing!

Now I feel I have too much time on my hands before we go and Im lost without having a 'project' :rotfl:

Any tips, ideas, especially pictures of what you guys have done would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance

Kirsty

I was so not going to do welcome bags. Until 2 days before my guests got here! Then I decided to do them last minute!

Here is mine. I included a bottled water for each person, a snack mix, granola bars, gummi bears, wet wipes, kleenex, travel tissues, coloring books for the families with kids and door hangers. I had the door hangers made by one of the fabulous people on Dissigns so I just had to print them out, cut them out, and glue together. For the water bottles, I got the labels at Joanns and it comes with a link to a free site where you can create the labels. I got gift bags from Party City, and printed out our monogram on clear labels for the front of the bag. I bought gift tags from Joann's and attached 2 to each bag...one had the family's name on it and the other had the date they were staying along with the reservation number. Hope that helps!

Hey! I am interested in some ideas as well for welcome folders. I saw some people had the hidden mickey brochures. Does anyone know where to get that from? I am new to the discussion board so I apologize if there is already a post for this.

I made my brochure using Microsoft publisher. Went online and found a few lists of hidden Mickey's and included them in the brochure. They came out pretty nice. :goodvibes

Hi there!

We did Welcome Bags - unfortunately we didn't take any pics (for some strange reason)

Here are the items I recall that we put in them:

Bag - Tropical/hibiscus tote bags from Dollar Tree
Bottled water
Gum
Soaps
Snacks like crackers and cheese
Hand sanitizer
Park Maps
Orlando Attraction Maps
Lanyards I had gotten for free when they were giving them out for Annual Passholders with pins
"We're Celebrating" buttons from Disney that we wrote "Katie and Matt's Wedding - July 1st, 2009"

That's all I can remember

But Dollar Tree should become your friend ;)

Kirsty sweetie - I am really glad I took the time to put together welcome bags!!! All my guests really appreciated them and used the stuff contained therein!!
I was lucky that I only had a very few guests, and I knew from the outset of planning that I wanted to do welcome bags, so I was able to collect things for the bags as I went along and buy things gradually, and so get many bargains!!
I had bags printed with our logo at Vistaprint

I made these little hanging tags and tied them to the bag handles with turquoise ribbon (turquoise was one of our colours)

I wanted to create a co-ordinated look to the bags (I know- I am very sad!!) and so I put all the things in little bags and created labels for each one. I used an appropriate Disney character for each item. Here are a couple of examples of the labels I created

Because I had so many things in the end, I divided the items into 'packs'.
I did, for example, a body care pack containing bath/shower gel, body lotion, bath fizzers and a bath puff. I also did hair care packs, hand care packs, clothes and shoe care packs and of course, the essential 'Bare Necessities' pack, but I won't bore you with the contents of all these packs!!
Lastly, I did a welcome folder containing park maps, a welcome letter and two little guide cards (one containing park times and one containing all our ADR information). I made envelopes with these graphics on them, to hold thes things.

Of course, there is absolutely no need to go as overboard with welcome bags as I did, but, as I said, I am sad and really enjoy playing around with things like this and loved every minute of compiling these bags.
I don't know if this helps at all, but if I can help you with anything, don't hesitate to ask!!!

Tinkerbell,

EEEEEK Thank you so much for your reply - you are not sad, I love all your ideas, your labels are just adorable, Im not technically minded at all, did you just go onto somewhere like zazzle to make them up?

I feel that since we are all coming from Scotland I really want to make my guests feel really special and I do love a project he he (maybe as sad as you!) :rotfl:

Thank you to everyone for your response, Ive gotta go now and start my new project woooohooooo!

Kirsty sweetie - Thank you so much!!! No, I designed the labels myself using Powerpoint, printed them out onto self adhesive paper, cut them out and stuck them onto the little bags. The hanging tags were just printed onto card, laminated and attached to the bags with ribbon. The only things I had professionally printed were the bags themselves. I designed our logo and just used Vistaprint's online service to order them. It was very reasonable, but I only needed a few bags (I gave one per room), but I guess if you needed a lot, it may pan out quite expensive.
Where in Scotland are you? We live in the English Lake District, about 30 miles from the border at Gretna.

I am thinking about doing welcome bags as well. I figure I will leave the bags at check-in and have the concierge hand them to the guests as they check in.

What do I do about guests who are staying off property?
I suppose if we host a welcome party, we can hand them out there, hoping the guests who stay off property come to the welcome party.

Any suggestions?

we had this same problem. We had one family that decided to stay off property but when we arrived in Disney they came to our hotel to greet us so we gave it to them then. our plan was to hand them there's at our welcome dinner if they had not come to our hotel.

We stay in Falkirk, Central Scotland - thanks again tinkerbell, I have powerpoint but never used it since college ha! Will give it a go :rotfl:

Tinkerbell I love your creativity! Those different packs are sooooo cute, any chance you still have them saved as a PowerPoint and would like to email? I would appreciate it dearly (leelee9878@aol.com)
