Welcome letter?

Well, we booked our Italy trip and I have a question I hope someone can answer. We are going in May and booked last week, so we had to pay in full. The ABD lady said that we would get a welcome letter with some paperwork we had to fill out and send back in 14 days from the date on the welcome letter. Its been 7 days and I haven't seen anything. Is the welcome letter dated on the day you booked and if so should I have something by now since it has to be back by a certain time? Hope this makes sense and someone can help me.

They do send it regular mail and allow time for mailing so it is not a strict 14 days. Unfortunately, with tomorrow being a holiday, you are still going to have to wait. If it does not come in Tuesday's mail, I would call. It is hard waiting so long, isn't it

It took almost six weeks for them to get our letter to us, and then two arrived on the same day. One by overnight fedex, and the other regular mail. In the meantime, I called several times and finally got a supervisor to fax me the pages that had to be signed. It did not inspire a lot of confidence in me as to their ability to navigate us through Peru if they couldn't even get a letter out of their office.

Since then, however, we've received mailings in a timely manner, so it seems like they finally fixed the glitch they had with our address. They did admit that they had miscopied the zipcode, so I would not wait to call. At the very least, calling will put a note in their system so you won't be penalized if you miss the 14 day mark.

Wow, sorry to hear that. That has never been our experience with them (not that I am at all doubting you). I also think they have some of the best/most friendly CMs at ABD, so don't hesitate to call whenever you need to

Guess I need to make a phone call tomorrow. Booked our trip back in December and haven't received anything in writing. I didn't know anything at all about a welcome letter. Good thing for these boards!

The welcome letter includes a contract you must sign and than other documents you have a little longer to return. I would definetly call.

Just called ABD and the person I spoke with seemed quite surprised that I hadn't received any contact at all since making my deposits. Said she'll get papers sent right out and that I should call back by Friday if I haven't received anything. So glad this thread got started!
