Welcome Home Wednesdays

I just saw that they were going to have "Welcom Home Wednesday" for DVC Members at the boardwalk. I was wondering if anyone has been yet and if so, what was it like?

We went to the "Summer Block Party" at Pleasure Island last year and it was one of my kids favorite things about our trip

We are going at the end of July and we are planning on going to the Welcome Home.

I noticed it on the Members Site. I hadn't heard anything about it but thought I'd just misssed it. I guess it's something new.

Welcome Home Wednesdays is the newest Member event at the Walt Disney World® Resort. These interactive gatherings, taking place on most Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. inside Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney's BoardWalk entertainment district, give Members and their family and friends the latest scoop through a high-energy, interactive game show. Deevy See, a beloved diva at many Member events, is among the zany cast o characters who may be the game show's surprise host on any given date.

Members and their family and friends enjoy light refreshments while testing their knowledge in a variety of Disney categories, including Home Resorts, Perks, Where in the World?, and the ever popular Mousellaneous.

It sounds like it serves the same purpose as the Member Update. Maybe it's just a way of making it easier for more members to actually attend. I know that I'd be more apt to take the time out of my day to walk over from Epcot than I would to take a bus over to SSR.

Just a thought.

It's listed on the website as special event along with the Member cruise, and the prior events (Merry Member Meets, last summer's PI events). While it may be a replacement to it, the Member Update was never listed there.

Although - I always felt the Member Update was too out of the way so it would be nice if they are changing it.

Will be spending 10 days at Home (SSR) this month, is there a schedule of events that may be going on at SSR during the month of July...anyone see a menu yet for the restaurant at SSR?

We went to the Member Update last Wednesday and they told us it's the last one. Starting this Wednesday they're being moved to Boardwalk and they're being called Welcome Home Wednesdays. Apparently they're going to do more games and such, to make them "more fun" was what she said.
