Welcome Home-Our 1st DVC Trip Link to TR pg 53

Sunday May 23rd

The girls actually slept in this am, much to my dismay. So much for getting to AK for rope drop. The time change proved to be a problem more this year than last. I think the girls ate fruit snacks and fruit for breakfst-lets hear it for healthy. I think we made it to AK after 10am. First on the agenda was the FOTLK show. We were not there early so did not get great seats. I did take a couple of pics-not so great sorry.

This was our first time for the show and the girls really liked it. We then went and stood in line to get FP's for Kali River Rapids to ride after lunch. We wandered around looking at the various sights around Africa and Asia.

We had a noon ADR at Yak and Yeti and once again this was one of the best meals of the trip. Even the girls ate! Our server was awesome. Cayley really liked the fried green beans though she pulled the breading off :rotfl2: Avery enjoyed her wonton. No pics-sorry. After lunch we went on Kali River Rapids. Everyone really lked it and did not get wet. We also took a trip out to the Conservation Station. Really cool place.

There were no animals on the vet area for us to see but we did meet

She was very sweet. Cayley used to call her Cokenanas. :cutie:

We wandered around a bit more and then it was time to catch the train back to meet up with Leanne and family for the parade. They had saved us some room on the brick wall and the kids sat on the ground next to or on top of their buddies. I used my zoom lens for this and some of the pics turned out really nice if I do say so myself :rolleyes1

It is such a fun parade. After the parade we went off in search of ice cream and I believe Leanne went off in search of an adult beverage :)

Up next, some cute ice cream eating pics and the GG

Great pics of the parade, Mary. I love the girls in their matching outfits -- too cute. :)

I'm glad you liked Yak & Yeti--it was our second favorite meal of our trip in 2008 -- we thought it outstanding.

Great pictures of the parade, and the girls are so cute in their zebra dresses! We have an ADR for Yak and Yeti, and I am thinking we should try the fried green beans!

Oh those dresses are SOOO cute! The time change killed us last year, I am hoping and praying this year is different, we will see.......

great start to the day, even if it is a little late, better to have rested kids than crabby ones!

Your girls are sooo adorable! I can totally see the excitement in their eyes! Awww glad to hear the CM was accommodating, very nice of her! Great pics of the room! Awww what a cute pic of the girls. So great to hear their got along well. That’s so wonderful you all got to meet up. And great pics from AK! Glad you folks got to meet Pocahontas or Cokenanas or should I say! LOL! Great update…can’t wait for the next one!

Glad to hear that you guys liked Festival of the Lion King. It's one of our favorite shows in all of Walt Disney World.

The girls look absolutely adorable in their matching dresses. Cokenanas......love it!

Leanne saved a really good spot for you guys to watch the parade. You got some fantastic pictures of the characters.

We haven't tired Yak & Yeti yet but I've read a lot of good reviews so I may just have to give it a try next trip.

I haven't seen FOLK in forever. Next trip for sure! Do you know if the show you saw was the first one of the day? I'm thinking of getting to AK at RD and doing the Safari and then the show.
The girls dresses are super cute! Your parade pictures are amazing!

I will do responses later but first I have to tell you all a little story. I have been reading some completed TR's over the past few days. TR's with very few pics and no pics of people which I usually don't do. I am just a pic kind of girl. Anyway, these reports have been awesome. The emotion behind the writing-the mental pics that tell a thousand stories. It made me miss DW bad.
In the mail today we got a little booklet about POP and our upcoming vacation. We were going to go in Sep but decided not to since our buddies could not go at the same time. I was a little worried that maybe our ressie wasn't cancelled. Part of me hoped that it had not :rolleyes1 :scared1:
So I called and yes it had been cancelled. So I asked if the dates and the "deal" were still avalible. Nope. So I asked her to check a few days earlier. It was. When she told me the total for 5 nights at the POP it was LOW, I mean under $400 for ALL 5 nights low. And the crowd calandars for that time, 1s 2s and 3s. And MNSSHP.....So..........

I BOOKED IT!!!!!

The girls and I are headed to DW Sep 18th-23rd. Staying at POP, using our AP's and hoping to do a few meals. I am very excited and now just need to book airfare.

That is less than 3 months.......
