Oh and let me take this one step further - we were in WDW over thanksgiving break and the magic band touchpoints into the parks now SAY Welcome Home and I started to skip down main street like a lunatic.

That is so nice! I usually hear “What’s for dinner?” when I open my door.

The CM said it to me for the first time when we entered EPOT last Saturday. I said "How did you know I'm DVC and she said my ring turned purple. I had to watch it every time after that. She was the only one that said it all week. I like hearing it.

Me too. Something about it kind of creeps me out. Of course they started saying it to hotel guests too which actually makes it more tolerable to me. Welcome! would be just fine though.

Resort cast members (some if not all) say, "Welcome home" to anyone, not just to DVC members.

The tapstyles at the parks don't always turn purple when they should, so recognition by a cast member there will be hit or miss.

A DCL crew member asks your family / party name as you board the ship. Then you are welcomed aboard by name. That’s special to me too! Other cruise lines don’t do that....well maybe the ultra expensive ones, I don’t know about those.
