Welcome, Foolish Mortals...to an October 2011 PTR! *Trip Report link is up, pg 71!!*

Now I'm considering a Hipster to use in the parks!

I bought the Rachel to use... the Mini-Hipster is way too small, but the Hipster felt too big. So I went with the Rachel, which is kinda in-between. However, the Rachel has a magnetic snap, and now the horror stories of people having their KTTW cards demagnetized is freaking me out! There aren't any magnets in the Hipster, so I know that one would be safe... I don't know if I should chance it with my Rachel bag, or not!

I think the magnetic issues are when it's in constant contact w/ the magnet...I have had issues with hotel keys in the past when they are sitting right up agaist the magnet (ie: if I throw the key on top of my purse where the magnet is) but not if it is in my wallet (which also has a magnet clasp). So as long as it doesn't touch it directly, you should be fine.:thumbsup2

I ordered a crossbody bag from Target that looks to be waterproof, on the days we might need to take along ponchos, etc. Hopefully it's not too heavy!

Congrats on the 10lb loss!!!!! My diet starts on Monday. For the past two weeks I have been horrible on what I eat. My roommate (who doesn't cook) has decided to not eat out for 6 weeks until I got home last night and there were pizza boxes and Ben and Jerry's ice cream cups in the garbage lol. We'll see how this goes hahaaaa. I love all the buys :) I just bought 2 apt 9 dresses at Kohls the other day :)

Just saw your pictures and all the T's are adorable. Love your Vera pattern!!!!!!

LOVE the Vera hipster!! My parents actually got me a Vera hipster for my birthday that I'm planning to use as a park bag too! (Mine looks a teensy bit smaller than yours, with a longer strap, or maybe that's just the picture lol) I think that they will make great park bags (I usually use one of those "string" backpacks, but the straps dig into my shoulders after a bit and I get entirely sick of not having pockets )

Love your other purchases too!

Thanks! Did you get a mini hipster? I got one of those last year, but it was sooo small! I could barely fit my phone and wallet in there! And it does have a really long strap. I probably could have been ok with it if I didn't need to carry my glasses with me, but those just wouldn't fit and I'm so afraid of crushing my glasses! :rotfl: I actually thought about using a string backpack, something I could decorate with Disney things, but I assumed the straps would dig into my shoulders!

The hipster isn't heavy with my stuff in it. I usually carry a tube of Nuetrogena sunblock, my wallet, cell phone, a compact, gloss...oh, and my camera. And honestly, of all the bags I could wear, I think I feel the most "light" with the hipster, probably because I'm wearing it across myself. Test it out at home, and see how your stuff fits. :thumbsup2

I wil definitely test it out! I'm sure it will be fine, I like how soft the strap is, it doesn't seem like it will dig into my shoulder at all! And I love that I can wear it across myself, I hate carrying things in the parks! :rotfl:

I can't think of what the Rachel looks like, but I do remember looking at a few of the crossbody bags that were a little smaller than the Hipster, and thinking the same thing about the magnets!:confused3 I'm so afraid of something happening to my KTTW card, that I wouldn't even take the chance, but that's just me, I'm paranoid about everything!

That will be nice to have a waterproof bag! :thumbsup2 I didn't even think of that, but it's a good idea! Ponchos are definitely something I'll be putting in my Hipster this year, thanks for reminding me! I gotta go to Wal Mart and buy a few cheap ones...although, I kind of want the Disney ones, but I know they are really expensive for a piece of plastic! :rotfl:

Thanks! Good luck with your diet! :goodvibes It's hard when you live with someone who eats whatever they want when you are trying to be good, Brandon ate a whole thing of ice cream in front of me the other day and I almost died! :scared1: Even after dieting for 5 weeks now, it's still so hard to resist some things! :sad2:

Just saw your pictures and all the T's are adorable. Love your Vera pattern!!!!!!

Thanks! :cool1:

I'm not even a fan of VB and I simply adore that bag! Maybe I need to give the company another shot... the pattern is lovely. Then again, maybe I shouldn't..... my checking account might suffer.:lmao:

Also, I really like those shirts, especially the EQ one! :thumbsup2 New Vinylmation comes out tomorrow, but I have sworn that will be my absolutely LAST shopping experience on the online Disney store before our trip!:goodvibes

Sorry, I keep missing this comment, since it was in the middle of all of my responses the other day!

I didn't really like VB at first either, but it started to grow on me little by little. The pattern really makes the difference, some of the patterns are really ugly, and some are so pretty! :lovestruc You should definitely give them another shot! :thumbsup2

LOL, I know, I don't want to buy anymore Disney things before my trip, but I might need another shirt or 2 before my trip! :rolleyes1 I really want to buy a Vinylmation, but I think I'm going to wait to get my first one in a park!

Day 4 Plans!

Good morning everyone!

Just to get this out of the way, I didn't lose any weight this week. :( I stayed exactly the same. I know I should be happy that at least I didn't gain, but I feel like the past week was a waste. I only have 10 weeks til my trip and I really want to lose another 20 pounds before we go, so I'm going to really have to work hard these next 10 weeks. This week was kind of a lost cause with exercising, because it was just SO hot, it was impossible. I'm hoping next week is a little better. I'm going to try to do my elliptical a few days a week, instead of just walking, it doesn't seem like walking is really good enough.

And, since it's been a while since I've made any changes to my trip, I did make one little change yesterday! We were supposed to eat at San Angel on our arrival day, but I changed it to...

les-chefs-int.jpg

Les Chef's De France! I've wanted to eat there for so long, and we always end up cutting it for something else, so I asked Brandon if he minded if I change it, and he said it was fine. If we have time in the week, maybe we will see if we can get in to San Angel, but if not, there's always next time!

I made our ADR for lunch, the latest time they have available. I know I'll be doing the Prix Fixe 3 course menu, it's a lot cheaper than the dinner version of it! I'm just hoping it's not going to be too early for us to eat, it's a little earlier than our San Angel ADR was. I just want to be able to eat, go do some Epcot things, and then go over to DHS for a little while. I'm just wondering where we are going to eat at DHS if we get hungry later, maybe I'll finally get to try Pizza Planet! :cool1:

Here are our plans for Day 4!

We'll have to get up early to get over to MK for rope drop!

mk-rope-drop.png

I love the little ceremony they have, I have to see it once each trip now!

Once we get into MK, we will go over to Crystal Palace for breakfast

CRYSPL_1_998.jpg

Where HOPEFULLY this year we will get a visit from

MK_Crystal_Palace_Eeyore_2005.jpg

(I'm actually thinking about canceling CP...I'm not really sure I want to do a character meal at all this trip, but I love CP, so it's a tough choice! I kind of want to just eat breakfast at WL then make a really early lunch ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern, because I LOVE lunch there! We'll see! Any suggestions?)

Once we are finished eating, we will probably go over to Tomorrowland, where I'll want to hop on the Peoplemover first, but Brandon will want to go straight to

Space_Mountain_Poster.png

After a visit to Tomorrowland, (where I'm also hoping to do the Carousel of Progress at least once this trip) we will probably go over to Fantasyland to check the wait time of Peter Pan, and maybe grab a Fast Pass:

BCB108.jpg

After some Fantasyland fun, depending on what time it is, we'll go over to Frontierland. If we are getting ready to leave, then I'm ok with riding Splash before we go!

But if not, it will have to wait til another day, since I refuse to walk around that park soaked again, like last year!

By this time we'll probably be getting tired and ready for a break, so we will go back to WL and rest for a little while. After we are well rested, we'll drive over to my lovely Beach Club

Beach-Club-Resort-02.jpg

where I'll probably cry a little and say "I wish we were staying here" since I had our reservation there earlier this year, for about a week, before I switched to WL! (I love the Beach Club almost as much as WL!)

After I wander around a little, and reminisce about our Disneymoon, we will check in to Cape May Cafe for dinner

disneybeachclubcapemaycafe01.jpg

and try not to stuff ourselves to the point of sickness like we did the last time we ate here!

We will then waddle over to DHS for magic hours, which is one of my favorite parts of any Disney trip, I LOVE DHS magic hours!

I'm hoping to get to ride Star Tours, finally, since we skipped it in May, and then it was closed in November

disney-star-wars-weekend-star-tours.jpg

I can't wait to see how different it is!

Then maybe we will go over to the Great Movie ride, which I love, even though it's a little outdated!

mgm-movie-ride-b.jpg

Finally we should be ready to head towards my beloved Tower of Terror

images.jpg

where I will be able to go on over and over until the park closes!

That wraps up Day 4! Almost halfway through the trip already!

Have a great weekend!

ps-what is up with photobucket? I resized all of those pictures, and even cropped that dog out of the Eeyore pic, and they're all still huge, and the uncropped! Ughhhh!!! If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know!

Great day 4 plans! I vote on keeping the CP ADR, but then again you know I'm a little partial to Pooh! I think at least one character meal is fun, but still isn't overdoing it. Every single time I go over to the Beach Club I tell Miguel how I'm dying to stay there! It is so pretty over there! And we love Cape May for dinner! :thumbsup2

Good plans for day #4!
I think you should keep your one character meal. If you change it now, you might rethink it all and change it back anyways! LOL :)

I dont know what was going on with photobucket the last couple days...your pics look fine now, but I know what you are talking about with the pictures not showing up the right size at first...same thing was happening to me! :headache:

I am so excited for you to try Chefs..we are doing lunch there on our trip in the beginning of our week :goodvibes:goodvibes We have not tried that it before either!

I don't think it's the mini hipster...it's definitely big enough for my phone, wallet, keys, and sunglasses. And I remember seeing something on their site and thinking "no, way too small" hahaha.

I used the string backpack for my past few trips, and while they are convenient to toss a bunch of stuff in and carry around, they do dig into your shoulders, and I get REALLY sick of carrying them by like day 3 lol. Wingnut ends up carrying it part of the time actually hahaha. I'm thinking if I use the swingpack, I'll be more okay with carrying it. I'm pretty sure Wingnut will be less okay with wearing the Vera bag :rotfl:.

Ideally, I would love to go to the parks bagless, but I know I could never pull that off.

Your day 4 plans sound like so much fun! Chefs de France is always our "maybe next time" restaurant too lol. Maybe next trip...

Your plans look great!

I've had lunch at LTT and breakfast at CP... if I had to choose between the 2, I think I'd pick breakfast at CP. Both places have good food, but I just love seeing Pooh and friends!

I'm doing Cape May for dinner on Part 1 of my trip... can't wait to try it and see the BC! We're doing dinner at 'Ohana one night, as well... I'm really looking forward to seeing the Poly, too. So far the only Deluxe Resorts I've been in are AKL and WL. I reeeeeaaaaaalllly want to stay at a Deluxe on our next family trip so it will be cool to get a glimpse at the resorts when I'm there in September.

I love your Day 4 plans. Personally, if you are not 100% sure on Crystal Palace then cancel it and do LTT lunch if that is what you are feeling more. :thumbsup2

Marc & I went to DHS EMHs in 2008 and I really loved it, I'm looking forward to them again this year.

Don't get discouraged on the weight loss, you are doing great and if you start thinking about how much time you have left then you are going to get discouraged and then not do as well. Trust me, I know about this VERY well. ;)

day 4 looks awesome!

and i've had that problem with Photobucket in the past....sometimes it just takes a while for the pics to adjust to the changes you make. they're ok now though!

and it's OK that you didn't lose this week....imagine how you'd feel if you gained? I had to put up post-it notes to remind me to "appreciate the small accomplishments!" :thumbsup2

your trip is so close! We still have 350 days til our July 2012 trip....but snce we can't go this year, we're already planning a second trip for 2012 (in October, of course!) I wish it wasn't too early to start PTRs!!!

Great day 4 plans! Personally I would keep CP.... but if you really don't want a character meal then just skip it. Not sure about photobucket but your pictures look okay. Actually a bit smaller than usual but it might be my computer screen. I know when I'm at work, some pictures come up a lot bigger. I guess it depends on the size of your computer screen :confused3

I'd definitely go with the LTT early lunch. We always eat a CS lunch, but that menu looks SO yummy!!

Great Day 4 plans. Personally, I'd keep CP and skip Liberty Tree Tavern. Don't get me wrong; we enjoyed LTT, but we love CP and it is a must-do every trip for us.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't lose any weight this week :sad2: Keep going - hopefully it'll catch up next week.

Lol at making another change! I hope you guys enjoy Le Chefs de France - we are eating dinner here and can't wait!

Great day 4 plans! My vote goes for keeping the CP ressie as it'll be nice to have one character meal.

Yay on ending the evening with ToT! :thumbsup2
