Well, after my initial comment yesterday I"ve read the whole thread thru and other than Safety Mom's (believable ) claim of innoncence, we haven't heard a word from any other moderators or "powers that be". You'd think if they were watching as closely as they usually do, they'd realize what a BIG, HUGE mistake they have made and do something to remedy it, before it really turns people away. I can't belive all of the hype was for this!

Safety Mom...any idea what the people upstairs think of this turn of events in their big surprise?

I would like to welcome Doris but like so many others, I am not too excited about the mockery of people's wardrobe. I thought the DIS was all about people from all over the World, with all different backgrounds, coming together to share a common interest - Disney - not fashion!

As for the outfits currently shown by Dame Doris, I find nothing wrong with them. Some may not be what I would wear but I am sure I have worn my fare share of outfits that others have looked at and wondered what I was thinking! I would be quite upset to find myself on a website one day as the butt of a cruel joke!!! OUCH... I don't think I would be in a hurry to go back to that site. And I know most all DISers on these boards love for new Disney fans to join us here on the DIS - so let's not make anyone feel unwelcome because of the way they dress!!!

Dame Doris is making fun of people. It's as simple as that no matter what "spin" was used in the debut article. Not showing the faces doesn't justify the use of the photos either. The intent to poke fun is there whether the subjects are annonymous or not. How sad.

I like a laugh as much as the next person & when the humor is in good fun, I'll be right there yucking it up. This concept of "humor" may be amusing to some but all I can think of is how hurt someone might be if they found themselves the subject of Doris's critiques. Please channel those energies into something that's not potentially hurtful to others.

I didn't say anything except that the girl in black might be a Jehovah's Witness. Is saying that bad or is it because I quoted the other person that seemed to have an agenda?

Wow, got my newsletter today. I was shocked and very disappointed and immediately unsubscribed to the newsletter.

I agree with the others that this is mean spirited and not very DIS like.

How would it be if Dame Doris just focuses on people wearing Lime Green and posts a selection [without comment] in every newsletter. If a DISer spots themselves pictured in the newsletter they have say 1 week to notify Dame Doris of who they are and they get a DIS T-shirt that says "Dame Doris Found Me".

I think this would be fun!!!

I just want everyone to know that I posted directly after Monkeyboy's post, thanking him for making me laugh and also complaining about how the moderators or deleting our posts without addressing any of our concerns. Even though the post was not offensive at all, the moderators deemed to delete this post. I would like the moderators to explain why. Thank you.

it seems that not only are they deleting posts but also changing them in some ways to make it appear none are missing for example... philaround's posts states it should be post 94 which is correct but there were several before his deleted so shouldn't the number be different now?

and as an alternative to the petition we could also start an email/pm campaign to the moderator/site admin whoever would be the best one I figure the site owner?...

I also wish that they would explain why they are deleting posts and make some comment in defense/apology for the concept...although I see no defense for such mean spirited ideology
