I have gotten a few items together for our daughters as a surprise and put them in a bag for them. I was wondering if I asked someone at POR would they put the bags in the room for me before we go to our room for the first time?

I had the same question. After I called POR and spoke with someone at the front desk this is what they told me. First, as long at it is not in a box- meaning they don't have to actually set anything up for you, they can do it. There are a couple of other factors though.

So when you check in, tell the front desk agent that you have a welcome gift and if they are able to put it in the room for you. if your room is not ready or you are not going to the room right away, they should be able to do it for you.

It all depends on how busy they are or if they have a runner (someone who takes things to the rooms for the front desk).

What they told me (because we are planning on getting there first thing in the morning long before actual check in) is to ask them, then when your room is ready they can text you to tell you that your room is ready. At that time, call back to the hotel and see if they have delivered the item to your room.

I'm sorry that is all over the place but the bottom line is yes they can but they also don't make any promises so don't be disappointed if you have to go back to the front desk to retrieve your gift from them and put it in the room yourself. But they told me that they will do their best to get it to your room to make the trip magical.

Hi
I had a box mailed to WL with all kinds of stuff for my DGD. I had a card inside that said it was from Mickey and friends. They delivered it to the room, but we had to be in the room to get it. They wouldn't deliver it unless we were in the room. I guess it all depends on each resorts policy. I also had a gift delivered to my DS and his wife at POR for a surprise, but I had to open the room for them to leave the gift. Have a great time!!

That is true if you mail something to the resorts for any of the resorts. But if you give it to them at the front desk when you are physically there for them, as I said, as long as they are not busy, they will bring it to the room for you.

General policy is that you have to be checked into and in the room to receive a delivery. Staff will not go into a room beforehand to deliver a gift. I ordered a gift from WDW Florist in 2012 to be delivered our arrival day. About a half hour after check in and verifying that we were in the room, POR staff delivered the gift.

Calling back to the hotel will get you nowhere. The hotel's telephone number goes to a call center that could be in Minnesota. (That's true even if you call the "front desk" from your room phone - the call center answers as if they were at the hotel.

OP, another option would be to ask the desk to "hold" the packages for you. Then when you go back to the resort, tell your family that you got a message to go to the front desk (or Bell Services) - they can hand the surprises to you, saying Mickey dropped them off. Your daughters will be as surprised as if they were in the room. Then they can be excited as they run to the room to open them. Anticipation of a gift can be as much fun as the gift itself.

Generally speaking, no, you can't have something put into a room so it's there when you first walk in. Why? Because that room isn't yours until you actually enter the room. I have never been able to have something in the room for arrival. I have been able to have something left at the front desk to be given to someone when they checked in though. Or, if you've already been in the room, you can ask to have something left while you are away from the room. Not always, but sometimes.

First of all the call centers are all in orlando. This I know for a fact because I worked in the reservation center for wdw. The first time I called I did get the guest services call center. They did not help and just tried to transfer me to the florist. The second time I called back I was finally able to get someone from the front desk on the phone. What I was saying was if something is
mailed to the resort yes you have to be checked in to the resort because what happens if you are late and are not able to get to the resort on the day your reservation happens.

Secondly the OP's original question has nothing to do with something being mailed and put in her room. She is asking about once she arrives and hands it to the front desk. I had answered to the best of my knowledge from having the same question myslef and being a former CM.

I will be stayimg at the same resort as the OP. If they are elidgable to then they will put it in your room while you are not there. As I had previously said.

I am planning to do the same thing! My plan is for my husband or myself to take the kids to explore the hotel or go to the car to grab suitcases (once our room is ready) while the other person runs to the room first to set up the gift. Then the gift setter will go find the rest of the family and then we will all go back to the room. Much easier than waiting for a CM to bring it, and the kids can enter the room for the first time and find their presents from "Mickey and Minnie".

This is what I was going to suggest. The resorts get really busy. The only way gifts get put in a room before you get to it is if you stay concierge.
