I was looking at the most recent 4 day cruise navigators on castawayclub for 5-7 yrs old and 8-9 yrs old and it looks like the first night there is a Welcome Aboard Party from 8:30 to 9:15. I thought that previously this party was for both parents and kids for the 5-7 yr olds and now it looks like it's just for the kids. Anyone know about this?

Also....my 7 yr old keeps worrying that the Oceaneer Club is too "babyish" for her........she wants to know why her 8 yr old sister will get the cool computers and not her. Anyone know if the Oceaneer Club has fun things for a 7 yr old to do?

Thanks:wave:

I know that the 5-7 group does get to spend some time in the lab. Check our the Navigators on Dave's site.

So 5-7 (kids)only get limited computer time? My kids 5-7 are on the computer FULL time so they would be BUMMED if thats the case.

There are computers in the Club as well, you just don't see them in any of the pictures. Our tablemates six year old spent all his time on those computers. But don't sell your kids on unlimited computer time, in both the lab and the club there are a few computers and a lot of kids - sharing is necessary.

The Welcome Aboard party on the Feb 22 Wonder had Lilo and Stitch. The kids had a wonderful time. Parents can go to the club anytime they want, so I'm sure you could go to the party if you wanted. We were off at the show.

The 5-7s do spend a lot of time in the lab - and do a lot of the same activities (named differently) as the 8-9s.

Oh that sounds like fun with Lilo and Stitch. Unfortunately if there aren't too many parents there then my 7yroldgoingon13 won't want me there so I guess I"ll have to look for something else to do.

My daughter was 7 on this past trip and was assigned to the Club. When we go next year, she will be 8 and assigned to the Lab. She is disappointed! She loved the Lab and wants to stay back with her younger sister. I don't think your daughter will think it's babyish. I thought it looked like fun, too!

Yeah, my daughter (who is four) still runs up to me yelling "Mom, you want to see, Stitch taught me to HULA!"

Then she waves her arms and moves her hips in a very convincing four year old ten minute hula lesson sort of way.

Thanks for the info, I know they will Love it! Question though? If we want to stay out late, will they let the kids lay down? Dont know if mine would actually sleep.

Later in the evening, there usually is a movie scheduled, and the kids are able to have some quiet time on the floor with mats and blankets.

Is the Welcome Party only at 7? wouldn't that mean it is during late dinner? We have late seating right now but I would hate for DD to miss the party.:D
