Weirdness with Dec reservations at AoA

So, we have will be staying in a Little Mermaid room at AoA from November 29 - December 9th. Good deal. BUT, as many times as I've checked back and tried, I can not get one single reservation for the whole time! We could get one reservation from the 29th to the 5th, and then one for the 5th through the 9th - but even though I've been trying for months I can not get one reservation to cover the whole time.

Do any of you have any idea of why this might be? Anyone else having a similar problem? Even my TA has tried, and no such luck.

Of course I've planned to just ask at check in if we can stay in the same room the entire stay (if we can't get it changed by then), but with the rumored free dining coming up - since the second part of the stay is room only, I couldn't apply free dining to that part of the trip which is a giant bummer. So I thought I'd search your collective wisdom and see if any of you had a clue about this!

I couldn't tell you why, but sometimes adding additional days to the front or back of your dates will yield a full stay being available. Then you can call and drop a few nights.

Free dining is excluded from LM rooms anyway, so that part wouldn't matter.

I had no luck booking either. We're saying 11/30-12/7. We ended up just booking at an All Star.

Thanks guys.
I was thinking it was a possibility they were holding back some rooms until after a discount announcement, but if the LM rooms don't count in that anyway, that throws that theory out.
I guess I'll just have to keep wondering, and keep trying hoping something changes before we get there. Worst thing - we'd have to pack up and move to a different room in the same resort one day. I guess that's not so bad. :confused3

I'm beginning to worry that first week in December may be more crowded than we had originally planned for - perhaps due to the later Thanksgiving holiday.

Call now and let them know that you have a continuing reservation. Since it's in the system, you have a better chance of keeping the same room. You'll still have to check-out and check-in but when we did this, someone from reservations ran our new Keys to the World cards out to us so we didn't even have to trek to the lobby.

It might be possible to combine the two stays under one reservation if all other factors are the same. Most "split stays" at the same resort are done because the guest doesn't want to have the dining plan for both stays or has other names on the reservation that change between the two stays.

I know that DVC is able to do this for members who have booked consecutive reservations in the same villa type. The OP may need a manager to do it when she calls CRO if the first CM can't. It avoid the need to check out/in again and remove all possibility of having to move.

Same here. I couldn't get an LM room OR a room at Pop OR at POR OR at POFQ for our stay...the last three being because our PIN was booked at those, but still. That worries me a bit.
