We were heading to Epcot for G&W but needed to activate our military salute tickets first so we decided to take an Uber from OKW to Beach Clib and then just walk through to the IG entrance. Everything was fine until we were stopped by security at the Beach Club and they would not let our driver in to drop us off! We told them we were just walking through and he said we could not do that and made the driver make an immediate u-turn and leave. The driver didn’t know what to do with us. I suggested dropping us off at the Dolphin instead. He happily obliged and we walked along the Boardwalk area instead. It was a lot longer than we’d planned, but what else could we do at that point? He said he had never had that happen before, but I also noted that he told the guard that he didn’t have his “sign” (I assume then one that indicated he was an Uber driver).

Sounds like Beach Club might be doing what has been happening at The Contemporary, Poly and the Grand. I haven't heard that BC/YC/BW were turning people away though.

If walking to the IG is a bit too long, the Friendship boat ride takes about 15 minutes from the Dolphin and Swan.

This isn’t new. Since the reopening, Disney has been limiting resort access unless you have a resort or dining reservation there. Things vary by resort, day & time. It is pretty consistent at the MK resorts, but it has happened property wide. You can arrive by Disney transportation, but private parking & ride share can get turned away without a reservation. Lots of people try to avoid parking fees or long transit to the parks by parking at nearby resorts. Disney is just putting an end to that.

Disney wants guests going to parks to be dropped off at the designated areas for each park. So you could have had the driver drop you at the front of Epcot, in the designated ride share drop off. You could have activated your tickets & entered the park there.

Disney has been doing this awhile. This included for people who mobile ordered food at a MK resort or Boardwalk to get into the area to walk to those parks. It makes sense as they are trying to limit people at the resorts. On my trip earlier this month, we were dining at topolinos at Riviera for dinner. We also wanted to tour the DVC villas there. We decided to get an UBER from AKV-Kidani and when we got there, they were checking for our names to ensure we had reservations before allowing us through.

I had no problem getting dropped off at BC on 9/26 around 6:00pm. I had dinner at WL and was meeting a friend at Epcot to ride Remy during the AP preview. They never even asked why I was there.

I was dropped at Poly, my driver showed a speical ID
That’s what our driver had said…that he “forgot his ID”. It was no big deal, just caught me by surprise. I didn’t think that walking through the lobby and the grounds of the resort would be a big no-no if we weren’t staying there. As an AKV owner, I certainly wouldn’t object to guests coming to “my” resort to simply walk around and take in its beauty, as long as they were not taking up parking spaces. If you must be a registered guest or have a dining reservation to even enter the property, then so be it. I will remember that for my future planning.😎

The funny thing though is you don't. You can easily walk into any of the boardwalk or MK resorts from the other resorts or parks so it's not like they're really keeping you out.
I thought the main point was just to keep the people from parking at them and leaving their car all day to go to the parks. If the issue was the Uber driver didn't have his pass then it seems consistent with that.
