FYI,
We just booked a 4 Day Land/ 3 Day Sea package through Travelocity for 4 in early March. We priced it at a Cat 8 stateroom and upgrading the resort to the GF - approx 4600.00 total. I then priced it at a Category 6 (w/verandah) and GF upgrade and it was 350.00 CHEAPER !!. Is this normal ? Thanks.

Anything is possible. I've been pricing cruises for the last few months and have found that certain cabins in a higher class are only a few dollars more than certain cabins in a lower class. In other words, I have found oceanview cabins for $310 - 600 when the inside cabins were priced from 299 - 400. It makes no sense to me either, but it is fairly common. It seems to depend on the location of the cabin. The lower you go, the cheaper you get. It could have to do with how many cabins they have available in a certain catagory, too. If they have 10 veranda cabins and only 2 inside cabins and they want to make sure the cruise is sold out, they will put the veranda cabins on sale.

(for the record, the prices I quoted are not for DCL, they are for Carnival. I didn't mean to get your hopes up at finding DCL for 299, sorry about that)
