OK, so thanks to the boards, I have learned to start my license process 60 days out, mailing thru Brevard County....ok now here is my question:

My fiance is going to be in Iraq, he is not coming back until 1 month before the wedding:scared1:

Does he need to sign anything that I am mailing to Brevard County? Do I need to wait for him to fill out the forms? If so, is 1 month enough time to get all the papers back????

Thanks in advance for everyones help with this....I don't know if I'd be able to pull of a DFTW without this boards!!!!! :worship:

the first form you just need his info, when they send that back you and DF both have to sign in front of a notary. if you do that as soon as DF is back and mail it off, you'll have it in time. Our license shows we signed it with the notary 3/21 and the clerk signed it to send back to us on 3/26 and we had it back right after that.

OMG what a predicament!:scared1: I am going thru Brevard cty. too. Maybe there is something you can do! I would call them and ask if there is an alternative. Best of luck congrats and please give your DF my sincere thanks for all he has done for us! Keep me posted, this is going to be a very special wedding, I'm sure:lovestruc

I would call the place where you have to send it and explain your situation. Most people tend to (or at least should) be really helpful and willing to go the extra mile when it comes to our service men and women! I might be biased because I have several people in my family who have or are serving but I can't hurt to call and mention it when you send it in!

i would call brevard county and let them know your concerns. i worked with a lady named michelle there and she was awesome! i'm sure they'll be able to help you. also, if you overnight the forms to them, it goes a lot faster. i really think the 60 day thing is because of mailing time. it's actually a rather painless process.

Thanks everyone for your advise! It really helps put my mind at ease about getting stuff done!!!

Hi Cm :) Just wanted to let you know that I sent my paper work to Brevard from Boston on Thursday July 3rd and got my license 5 days later!!!! Even with the holiday they did a very quick job of it;) Hope this puts you at ease a bit......
