Weird Quirks

I am terrified of frogs and mice

I don't mean scared I mean TERRIFIED to the point of frozen fear

Dude, you are going to WDW in 7 months. You do know that place is overrun with mice, right? They are HUGE and they clothe them and they even show up at dinners that people pay out the wazoo to go to. I even heard they'll call you on the phone if you ask! Are you crazy woman? You'll die from fear!

OMG, did you read my post on the M&M thread?? Sounds like we're both pretty weird! ROFL! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You know, I really do think WE are all the normal ones. I mean if there are this many of us, we must be normal...right?

Well, if not, at least we can be freaks in good company! :rotfl:

Ok, here's another one of mine that I'm surprised my DH hasn't posted on here to mention! ;) I am terrified of clowns! Yes, clowns! To the point that I will go out of my way in Walmart if the little clown guy on the bicycle is riding around--I cannot stand clowns!

Since I have been "ok'd" to out my DW, I will tell her other one...she CAN'T STAND for her food to touch. Each must be separated on the plate and at no point can they come in contact with each other. If one part of the meal is liquidy or runny, then a bowl or separate plate must be gotten for that one.

My quirk is that I cannot stand silence. I must have some kind of noise or music going on. It kills DW that I read with the TV or radio going on in the background. We have a ceiling fan in the bedroom that hums a little, which helps me sleep at night.

 Ok! DH said I had to fess up or he was going to sign up on here and come join in on the fun...

I have to fall asleep with the TV on.. I can't stand complete silence in the house until I'm sound asleep and than I don't notice it! I guess with a house full of kids and the fact that I babysit during the day that noise is natural and routine for me... So the noise at WDW is NO problem for me! If there is no noise.. than something isn't right around here!!!!

Well Nancy, when we take that trip insane with each other, you'll be glad to know that I can't sleep without the TV on either :teeth: I fall asleep to Nick at Night every night :)

Me too..
I program the tv at 11pm...
11 - Nick at Nite..
11:30 Becker (his a riot.. always complaining!)
12:00 back to Nick at Nite...

I'm a night owl.. I work on little or no sleep...

Okay, DH will probably rat on me if I don't admit this...I can't stand for the covers to be wrinkled before I go to sleep. I don't mean just big wrinkles, everything must be smooth and the tops of the covers folded down the same amount on each side and the folds must be smooth. I really don't know how DH has manged to live with me for as long as he has. :teeth:

That is too funny...I'm the same way, and married to a DH that kicks out the end of the covers...boy did we have words when we were first married. I mean, why did he have to kick out my side too? I have to have the sheets smooth and tucked on my side.

Mickey and Minnie are the only mice i am not terrified of and I think it is cause they are HUGE :teeth:

My fear of frogs is worse anyway and none of them there are there???

Speaking of ears...

I have a little notch in my right ear lobe. It's noticeable in photos (if you look for it). I used to tell KAMommy that it was there because the nuns used to drag me to the principal's office in parochial school all the time when I was a kid. My son (A) has the same notch in the same place. I know it ain't the nuns with him, cuz he's a good kid (and he goes to public school). My daughter (K) doesn't have the ear notch.

Another weird thing with me are sneezes. When going from dark areas to light, I sneeze. That's explainable - it's called 'photic sneeze reflex' and it's genetic - my mom does it too. What's weird is I sneeze right after eating chocolate. Just once or twice - Reese's Cups and dark, rich chocolates do me the worst. Now that I've read the 'photic sneeze reflex' description on Wikipedia, it may be related to strong flavors...

- from 'photic sneeze reflex' - Wikipedia
"In addition this sneeze reflex can be brought on by a sudden inhailing of cold air or a strong flavor such as a strong mint gum. This implies an overstimulation of any nerve close to the trigeminal nerve can cause the sneeze reflex."

In college, we used to feed GoofyDad chocolate to make him sneeze. It was a great bar game! :lmao:

Here is another one of my anal quirks...

I have all my canned goodies in ABC order...
My veggies go on the top shelf..
the fruits/pasta and sp. sauce go on the bottom shelf...

My kids enjoy freaking me out...and moves them all around!!

:worship:

I am so impressed. When you open my pantry, stuff falls out! :rotfl:

KAMommy,
I refuse to be normal even if everyone else eats M&M's and skittles the same as us.
StitchIsOurHero,
DS4 is deathly afraid of "The Scary Clown Monster". Funny thing is he has never seem a clown before except for DH's statue of Red Buttons. Honestly that thing freaks me out too which is why it has been relegated to the dining room.

I too have to have noise. If something isn't making noise my ears ring to the point of insanity. Heaven forbid the power goes out when I'm sleeping! I wake up instantly. I now leave my IPOD with the non fitting earbuds :teeth: next to me.

Okay! Since you all are spilling your guts, here are mine! (maybe I won't be the only one with these quirks!)

My BIG one is, my towels all have to be folded a certain way!! If DH folds and they aren't right, I have to take them all out & refold!! When DD5 wants to help fold towels, I almost have to be institutionalized!!! :rotfl2: The thought of them being in the linen closet not uniform :furious: AAAHHHH!!!! Just the thought makes me want to refold all of my towels!! (oh yeah! tags have to face the inside when they are folded!!!) :teeth:

My next one is all hangers have to face the same way as do the clothes hanging on the hangers!! If one is out of place it drives me bonkers!!
How has my DH lived with me for 11 years!! Poor guy!! :rolleyes1

I'm the same way with my laundry..
Towels and washclothes must be folded MY WAY! When DH or the kids help I need committed..
I also fold our clothes a certain way... My clothes are color coded in all rooms.. DH is the fanatic about the clothes hangers being the same direction.. they all have to face east.. me being a lefty.. mine have to face west! LOL

I also despised messy dresser drawers...that will send mommy into a fit!
