See, now that's why I am happy visiting Disney resorts during the day for the stores and restaurants, but don't ever want to stay in one overnight. ;)

:scared1: Help... !! Its the one I call the Maniacal Clown! I told my DH I will not stay at BWV because I cannot go to a pool with that evil clown!:scared:

That's too funny... My DW told me the same thing.. we were trying to get one of the EPCOT resorts for our upcoming trip in Nov (ended up with SSR) and when i mentioned BWV, she said that the weird clown freaked her out!!

I can understand- that is one freaky looking clown; but it is also one of the better water slides...

Just sayin...

:)

That evil clown reminds me of a clown in an old either twilight zone original episode or maybe it was Outer Limits. However I think you'll be happy with SSR. That's our Home Resort and we stay there quite often. We'll be there for Thanksgiving week. One of the cool things about the resort for me, is that my grandmother's family vacationed in the real Saratoga Springs Resort in upstate New York in the early 1900's and 1920's. I have photos in my family photo album that bear a striking resemblance to the framed old vacation photos found in the villas. That, and there's no Maniacal clown!:lmao:

The Genie showing us his present had me cracking up, but the Cinderella pic and her special "hello" had me ROARING with laughter.

Lol! I bet she is from NJ. That's how we say hello!

Everything we have seen so far we're pretty sure we will enjoy it. our big thing was trying to get to the EPCOT resorts.. not at all unhappy with landing SSR though. Sounds like we'll be hand tagging as you leave we arrive (we check in the Sat after thanksgiving.. Looking forward to our first time at Disney with the Christmas theming and no oppressive heat

You know, even without being an EPCOT resort, EPCOT/DHS is really the closest park, and thus a short ride. MK is the longest, and with AK, the bus also stops at Blizzard Beach on the way. The walk to DTD around the lake is really enjoyable, we do that often.

That's true.. we stayed at POFQ the last 2 times we were down, so we know the area quite well. We have admired the SSR grounds as we were riding the boat from POFQ to DTD. And my DW can't wait to dart over to DTD to the Earl of Sandwich!! ;)

Hey and i just noticed, you're a fellow Virginian!! Are flyind down this time or driving.. This will be our first trip flying down there instead of me driving the whole way down and back.

Actually, this trip, we are once again driving down. DS18 is actually starting college at Florida Tech and has to be there on August 10th for orientation week. We're actually driving to FIT first, spending a couple days doing the family orientation activities and staying at the Hilton, Melbourne Beach. The activities for us at Florida Tech end the evening of the 11th, so we'll then drive the 1 hour west to Orlando and spend a 8 nights/9 days with our DD8 at the Pop.

We stayed at SSR during Spring Break, and will stay there again the week of Thanksgiving. We'll collect DS18 from the college mid-week. We drove down during Spring Break (we had another family with us and we stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa) and we're planning to driving in November (my sister's family is coming with us--so another 2 bedroom villa). We will check airfare, but generally, during Thanksgiving week, there are no bargains on airfare. We usually drive as far as Georgia, spend the night at a Comfort Suites or Country Inn Suites and then continue on the next day. The 2nd day can be 3-5 hours of driving depending on where in GA we choose to stay.

I too love Earle of Sandwich. Yum!! I also love Ghirardellis. We also usually do T-Rex or Rainforest too. DD8 is VERY disappointed that the McDonalds has been taken down. LOL

Chesapeake is a bit further south. We're just south of Frederick, MD. It might take you as many as 3 fewer hours to get there. Its a total of 14 driving hours, not counting stops, for us.

I've always hated that clown as well. Reminds me too much of Stephen King's "IT" <shudder>

I never noticed this until my fiance pointed it out to me. Look how creepy/happy he is gutting that fish! :scared1:

OMG! I can't believe how much that boy looks like my son (even the look on his face)! I had to save the pic on the computer so I can show DH and DS8 when they get home tonight. That in itself is creepy to me!

Well, now you have to post a pic of your DS!

I was thinking of doing that, but I don't have an account with Flikr or Photobucket (yet ;))

I showed DH last night and he agrees, that child in the middle looks just like our son (just a year or two older). Even the way he is carrying himself is DS. He was shocked and couldn't believe it!

My DH is the same way. He said that if I have to stay there, he'll just stay at home that trip.

Do you have facebook? You can post pictures hosted there too. I do that!

I don't, but DH does and he does have an account on here as well. I'll have to ask him if he doesn't mind posting a picture of our DS8.

ETA: DH and I were discussing about this painting and I remembered that an old H.S. friend of his paints backgrounds for Disney. I'm beginning to wonder if she may have painted this one after looking at a picture of our son and just painted him a little older :confused3:
I have to find out if he still keeps in touch with her.
