weird occurance.....

We were watching wdw home videos taken by our new neighbors from their trip a couple of years earlier, before we knew them. As we were watching their kids on Cinderella's carousel, we saw my sisiter. We were their the same exact time.

We were there in 1993 and on the boat from FW to Discovery Island when DH
thought someone at the back of the boat looked like his college roomate's sister. I had only met her once and wasn't sure at all. She kept looking at DH also and was saying the same thing to her husband. As we were getting off the boat she and DH both spoke at the same time and sure enough, it was her. Now keep in mind DH graduated from college in 1979 so quite a few years had passed and quite a few children too! (They had four and we had three)

We go Jersey week so we're always running into people we know. No, we don't know all of Jersey, :rotfl2: but since our schools are closed most of that week, lots of us head down. We've met up with friends for the day, run into my Ds's hairdresser last year, and quite a few other people we knew.

One year, our trip overlapped with DH's second cousin's family from Colorado. Since we rarely see them when they come to Jersey, we met up with them for a couple of days.

We did run into neighbors of ours in Las Vegas, neither knew the other was going to be there, so we had dinner together.

Another time we were in the Bahamas, and I said to my DH, that looks like your Dad. Sure enough, after we left for vacation, my mother in law decided to go to the exact same place. What a rotten vacation, we were trying to get away from them. We spent no time together, but just knowing they were in the same hotel was a bummer.

Small world.

edited to add: Posted by j's m, forgot my DS was logged in!

We have seen someone we knew both times we went. Through conversation we knew we would be there at the same time - but didn't expect to bump into them at the parks - sure enough we did, once at the TTC and once in Epcot!

My mom and one of her supervisors are going on vacation at the same time. She is almost 70 and he is about 30 and VERY good looking, so the other employees have been picking on them, saying they are probably running off somewhere together.

So yesterday, she sees him and says, "so, where are you going on vacation?"
He tells her Florida. His family is leaving Saturday morning. She was like....."Ummmm....where in Fl?" He says "Disney World."

She told him "You are kidding me. We ARE going away together!!!" :rotfl2:

So they made a deal. If we run into him and his family, I have to take a pic of the 2 of them together in Disney....just them, so they can hang it on the bulletin board at work. :)

Every year my Dh sees someone he knows at Disney.

That will be soooo funny!

We have passes to DL and we run into someone from church everytime we go!

Since we are on this subject, We went to Duluth, MN two weeks ago for spring break. It is about 2.5 hours north of our home. Duluth is a huge shipping port on the tip of Lake Superior. They have a Maratime Museum at the entrance to the port, so we went to visit. We heard the same thing... "Hi, Mr. Dudspizza" and I turn around and see a second grader from one of my classes standing there.... not more than two minutes later a mom approaches me and says, "are you Mr. Dudspizza? My son goes to your school". That was weird. This place is the size of a school gymnasium. What are the chances we would be there at the same time...I think we spent an hour there, yet saw two families we knew...

On another note, we were stopped by a couple behind CR asking us to take their picture. They noted our "accent" or lack of southern accent and asked where we were from.... turns out we were both from Minnesota and actually work for the same school district.... weird again!Duds

I LOVE THE MARITIME MUSEUM!! My fave thing to do in Duluth!

I have run into people from High School while in Disney. Just odd. Haven't seen them in 5 - 10 years, even though we live in the same neighborhood, and then I see them at Pinocchio Haus in WDW of all places!!

Oh yeah - we will be there the week preceding Memorial Day this year, too!

We will have Lime Green on, as well!

Last visit, we ran into a family with kids who were in each of our kids' preschool classes. They moved out of state before the start of this school year & hadn't seen/talked to them since the end of last school year.

Just happened to be shopping in the same store in Epcot at the same time one evening in January. Had both pulled our oldest out of Kindergarten & took a family vacation at the same time. Very weird...

I was walking down the sidewalk at Pop Century late at night on one of the last days of a weeklong trip when I heard someone say my name. It was a friend I hadn't seen in a couple of years. Turns out we'd arrived on the same day and had been staying in adjacent buildings all week, but since I never took the bus, I didn't run into her and her family until that night. Our fathers are very good friends and even though my Dad knew I was going and had heard his friend talking about how his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids were going to be there at the same time, Dad just never put two and two together. It would have been nice to know that they were there earlier! I could have seen the kids.

Granted this didn't happen in Disney but it comes under the heading of weird with a capital W. I was watching a documentary last night about WWII and a battle taking place in a German forest. The two persons involved was a young officer on the front line and an artillery officer who would normally be miles behind the battle. Well the shells started to come in from the Germans and everyone dove for cover. The young officer dove into a shell hole on top of someone who was already there. That person was his father, who was the commanding general of the artillery unit scouting the front. Neither one knew the other was there. Now that is WEIRD!!!

Ok, long story :thumbsup2 ;) :lmao:

A few years ago a friend had gotten a wonderful brownie with nuts in it. He proceeds to chip a tooth. So I told him about my Disneyholic Dentist (I spend more time talking WDW than I do in the chair :rotfl: ) The next night we were sitting in the lobby of the Polynesian and who should walk by.... MY DENTIST! We laugh at that one.

Fast forward to this past December. Walking through Mousegear, who am I standing next to??? My dentist again! The next night we decide the last minute to go to Cape May. While sitting there waiting, who is there.. My dentist!! And who walks in behind him but his receptionist :rotfl:

Three weeks ago while I was getting my teeth cleaned, he says that he only goes at that time every 5 years or so, and I see him both times.

My next trip is in less than 3 weeks. I tell him this, he says exactly when???? His receptionist will be down there at the end of my trip. :rotfl:

It is a small world :wizard: :grouphug:

We have had that happen, but our flights to Orlando were one hour apart. We all stayed on Disney property and managed to get our children together late one evening to play. We also ran into each other at the Animal Kingdom. Funny thing is, neither of us new the other was planning a trip to Disney until the week of traveling.

Another weird thing was this past December we were on the Disney Wonder and I saw this person that looked very familiar. A couple of days later I found out it was my former neighbor and his family. Imagine that in the Bahamas, I even found someone I knew. I work with the public and this just amazed my children because almost everywhere we go, I see someone I know. :wave2:

We've totally had that happen TWICE!!! Not only that, but once we were checking into our hotel & low & behold, walking out of the hotel was a family we knew pretty well!! Disney just draws everybody in! That's not even mentioning all the people we have run into at one time or another!

My daughter is in 6th grade and our telephine has really started ringing off the hook this year with her friends calling all the time (and I really mean all the time!!! UGH) Well she has this one friend who calls so much more than the others, it was to the point that I had to step in and tell her that me daughter isn't allowed on the phone that much so please limit your calls to two a day. She is my daughters friend but it also makes my daughter crazy. Well I make the comment to my daughter No phone calls when we are in Florida (which is next week woo hoo!) please tell (this girl) do not call my cell phone while we are away its family-time. So she tells her and guess what??????? Little Miss Chatty Cathy isn't just going to Disney the same time but she is staying in the same resort!!! Just shoot me!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:

I ran into my boss in the parking lot at Epcot. Neither of us realized that the other would be there too! I just quit my job and went to WDW to celebrate my new job. So that was awkward.
