Ever had a neighbor or friend or whoever come up to you and say, "hey, we are going to Disney World on such and such a date"?

Well, our neighbors down the street just told us that they are going to WDW Oct 18-25 and they are taking the only Airtran flight from MSP to MCO that is non-stop. They had no idea that we were on the same flight down there on the 18th. So, some people we know will be there the same time as us...... what are the chances????

WEIRD!

Had a neighbor tap me on the shoulder once in EPCOT.

:rotfl: That's too funny! What are the chances that 1. being in WDW at the same time, 2. Then being in Epcot at the same time, and 3. Being at the same place in Epcot at the same time... A little eerie... LOL :rotfl:

It's interesting how often you run across someone you know. I always joke with my GF about seeing someone I know every time we go somewhere.

I was on travel for work about a month ago, arriving at the Denver airport, when I ran across my boss, who was leaving the Denver airport for home. The only reason we saw each other is that I had stepped out of the main aisle to check my voicemail, and while standing still, he passed me (he was easy to pick out - he's a tall, skinny guy in the Army Reserves, so when I saw the uniform and the two stars on it, I knew it was him).

Regards,
TGr

We went a couple years ago to disney quest and my dd ran into a classmate on the elevator leaving there. and the same trip we were at seaworld and my dh coached baseball and a family that has twins on the team, we ran into there. so it shows it's a very small world.

Last month we were at AK and my SIL ran into a co-worker we didn't know was going. First time any of us ever encountered someone from home in 8 years of WDW trips.

Because we go during the mid-winter school holiday, we run into *someone* we know every time we go---be it WDW or DLR.

I was getting off the Monorail at EPCOT a few years ago, and I heard, "Mrs ____". It was one of my student's and her family.

Last summer, I was returning from a DCI show in Nashville and I was getting on the same airplane to DTW as a fellow teacher from my building. She was there to visit family!

We've often run into people we know at WDW. Once we were at the old Superstar Television and the family name of one of the participants was the same as Mom's maiden name. Turns out they were distant cousins from Ohio.

This has happened to me a few times. My first trip to WDW was in 1999. I knew that one of my co-workers was also there (our dates overlapped by a few days). On my first day in the parks (AK) I was walking on the bridge to Dinoland when someone came up and grabbed me. I couldn't believe that I actually ran into my co-worker! Two years ago we were staying at ASMo but had decided to eat dinner at ASMu since that bus stop was closer to our building. I was travelling with some special needs adults. We had just sat down to dinner when a lady approached us. She knew one of the ladies in my group. She knew that she was going to be in Disney but was quite surprised to find her in the food court. Later that week we were at MGM waiting for the first Indiana Jones show to open. I was talking to my friend when some lady came up and started hugging me! My friend looked at me like who in the heck is that! Well when the lady finally let go of me I found out that it was my dog groomer/boarder. She is a DVC member and was there with her grandchildren. Sometimes we discuss our Disney trips but this time neither of us knew that the other was there. We actually ran into her several times that day.

Since we are on this subject, We went to Duluth, MN two weeks ago for spring break. It is about 2.5 hours north of our home. Duluth is a huge shipping port on the tip of Lake Superior. They have a Maratime Museum at the entrance to the port, so we went to visit. We heard the same thing... "Hi, Mr. Dudspizza" and I turn around and see a second grader from one of my classes standing there.... not more than two minutes later a mom approaches me and says, "are you Mr. Dudspizza? My son goes to your school". That was weird. This place is the size of a school gymnasium. What are the chances we would be there at the same time...I think we spent an hour there, yet saw two families we knew...

On another note, we were stopped by a couple behind CR asking us to take their picture. They noted our "accent" or lack of southern accent and asked where we were from.... turns out we were both from Minnesota and actually work for the same school district.... weird again!

One year, at Epcot, I ran into a co-worker. The department I was in had less than 20 people, too.

The next year, I went on a cruise with several co-workers. We work at a college and there was a party of students from the college on the same ship.

Well, with only 6 degrees of separation, if it's 78 in WDW, there should be 13 people there that you know! :rotfl2:
Hey Manning - is my math correct? :lmao:

Two years ago new years eve in Epcot near Italy in the disabled area we sat next to a great couple, this new years we were staying at home but at the last minute my wife decided she needed a Disney fix in Epcot new years eve we were in the disabled area near England and the same couple came and sat next to us we are from the UK they are from USA this coming new year we are all meeting up again

When we lived in Michigan we drove to disney during spring break and saw friends of ours at a rest area in Georgia. We saw them again at disney.

It wasn't the exact dates, but we were down there for about three days at the same time as our neighbors two houses over. They left about a week before us and drove. We flew down and then they left two days after we arrived. I did think it was an odd coincedence, lol. They also have a dd born the same month and year as our dd. They're kids are spaced the same amount of years as ours. Just one of those crazy things I guess. Admittedly, that is really weird that you're on the same flight and everything.

When we went to WDW last spring (Memorial day weekend and week following), we met the son and daughter-in-law and their kids of one of the nurses in my office. We had always been friendly with them, so, made plans to meet up with them. Then, one of my husband's friends from work who had recently retired was also going to WDW, where his daughter was doing an internship. This was all at the gate as we were waiting for the plane--none of it preplanned. We then actually met his daughter (the intern) who was working at Philharmagic that evening. She gave our group front of the line passes for 2 rides the next day. Amazing coincidences. Looking forward to our trip the same week this year--wonder who we'll meet up with this time.

We will be there the week of Memorial day...... maybe we will bump into each other!! I will be wearing my lime green... errrr.... something! I haven't gotten a ribbon (or something) yet! :teeth:

1981-83 moved from England to Maryland then California

1984 in DL ran into best friend from England, she lived 20 mins from DL, we lived 1.5 hrs away. No plans were made to meet, completely random!

1990- my 18th b-day, ran into good friend from Maine at WDW, same school, same classes, again we didn't know the other would be there.

Wonder who we'll run into this year!!!

:insert IASW theme here: :)
