Weird Foot Pain

I have on the outside of my left foot a kind of muscle burning pain when I stand. It comes from the fleshy part on the side of the foot up and under my ankle. It feels like muscle strain but I have not strained my muscles. I am making foot doctor appt but in the mean time I was wondering if it sounded like anything anyone has had. I have had this for about 3 weeks. It is worse in the morning when I forget and get out of bed. When there is no pressure it is fine. It is just so weird that I wondered if anyone had had something like it.

A couple of years ago I had something similar on the top part of my foot a few years ago. ONe doctor told me I had hair line fractures across the top of my foot which was really out there. I showed the x ray to another doctor andhe said that that was not the case.

I have not banged it or hurt it so I just do not get it.

Heel spur, maybe? I hope not, because I have heard of people suffering from this for years.

But it is not my heel it is on the side of my foot opposite from my arch.

Thanks I did. It does not sound like it because of the location. the part that kills me is up until last year(May) I could not even wear shoes b/c I had a crack in the bone of my little toe and I FINALLY got it fixed so I could wear normal shoes and now I still cannot.

Thanks again for your help. I also looked up Plantar Facitis(sp) and that does not really fit either.

I had a similar pain. Thought it was because I was overweight so I ignored it. Went to the dr and he had it fixed right away.

Turned out it was a bruised ligament or tendon. He gave me a cortisone shot, wrapped it and told me to ice it and stay off of it as much as possible. I went back in two weeks and it was fine. And I didn't ice it that much, nor stay off of it too much. I had the appt on a Friday aft so I tried extra hard over the weekend not to stress it. By Monday, it was great.
He said that I had stressed it by either alot of walking, tripping, falling or something like that. I actually think it stemmed from my Disney trip earlier in the year.

Podiatrists are amazing!
