Maybe this has been done before, but I thought it might be fun to tell each other some of the oddities we posess.

For instance, I'm afraid in heights and am clostrophobic, but have aboslutely no problem flying.

I can't stand wearing shoes. The minute I get home they and the socks must come off.

I always wanted to be a teacher and never considered business. (I just celebrated 24 years with my bank and was a legal secretary 8 years prior to that.)

The only reason I ever went to Disney was to shut my Mother up.
I was convinced I'd hate it. Of course that changed very quickly and we've been back every year for the last 10 years.

DXL ---I hate socks/shoes too! I have 'duck feet' which are wide and flat (hence the term) which make wearing most shoes uncomfortable for any period of time. If I don't have to wear shoes, I don't. Ever.

I am also claustrophobic and fear heights, yet I have NO problems riding rollercoasters or flying.

My secret guilty pleasure is watching The Osbournes on MTV.

Ok, since you guys hate socks here's a good one. I HAVE to sleep with socks on. If I don't have them on when I go to bed, I can't sleep. I know it's odd and I don't know why it is, but it is. My mom tells me that when I was little I used to go into the tub with my socks on and I even wore them to the beach once and went into the ocean with them. The funny thing is, I don't wear them at all during the day (except in the winter).

I also hate socks & shoes! When at home, I am always barefoot. It drives my DH nuts.

I HAVE to sleep with a pillow under my stomach or I cannot sleep.

i hate shoes and socks too!! i would walk around barefot all the time if i could!!

i have to choose just the perfect chip every time i'm eating a bag of chips. they will all be eaten eventually, but i like to pick out the big ones or oddly shaped ones first...

i have to pick out my piece of pizza first before anyone else in the house is allowed to...

i'm sure my DH could tell you other odd things about me!!

I would never have believed so many people dislike shoes and socks. I had to laugh reading yours, coliebird. I'm so bad I even have to sleep with my feet outside of the covers. Can't sleep if they're too hot. DH thinks I'm nusts.

I also hate to wear shoes & socks, but love to buy shoes! I have to sometimes sleep with my feet from under the covers too.

I separate my Skittles into colors and then eat the same flavor at the same time...Jelly Bellys also.

I love to talk and am very out-going, but I can't speak in public...I get tongue-tied!

My washcloths and towels have to be folded a "certain" way.

Other than that, "I" think I'm pretty normal, but I'm sure my DH doesn't.

OK, here goes --

I have to wear makeup whenever I go out. I mean the full deal, everytime, no matter where. I went nuts in the hospital because I knew how awful I looked. That goes for my hair too -- has to be precisely, immaculately styled -- everyday!

I hate when anyone refrigerates tomatoes. I won't refrigerate mine and I don't like when I buy them in the store and they feel cold, cause I know they refrigerated them!

I'm a spelling freak! It bothers me when I see misspelled words (no offense, but the word "weird" is misspelled in this thread title - LOL). Guess that comes from 30+ years as a secretary.

I have to read the newspaper in the order it comes. I can't read the last section before the first, etc. And, I have to either read the whole newspaper, or not at all.

I can't stand any kind of cleaning that has to do with water -- washing sinks, tubs, dishes, floors. I'll dust, vacuum, clean out closets, etc. but my DH does all the floors, toilets, tubs, etc.

I don't like to be outside (gardening, lawn mowing, sports, yardwork, etc) even if it's just sitting in a lawnchair. I like the feeling of 4 walls around me and our A/C is going 24/7/365. I ADORE A/C.

I don't like hotel rooms that don't have "inside" doors. I don't like to enter a hotel room from an outside corridor or balcony.

I put salt and pepper on my french toast and can't believe it when the rest of the world puts syrup or sugar on it! EWWWWW!

Boy, the more I think of, the more I sound like "Monk"!!!

I hate wearing socks and shoes. I'm barefoot at home and have been wearing sandles to work all summer. I'm not looking forward to cooler weather when I'll have to start the socks and shoes routine again. My 2 DD's take after me and it drives DH nuts.

I do not like fresh tomatos but love anything processed: canned tomatos, tomato sauces, ketchup, etc.

I don't like coffee but like anything coffee flavored: ice cream, candy, etc.

I eat banana and mayo sandwiches (DH has to leave the room).

I absolutely HATE shoes & socks too! I have gotten in the car, driven to a store and only then realized I didn't have any shoes with me & had to turn back I am always barefoot at home so I now keep an extra pair of thongs in the car for emergencies.

I can't take a bath unless DH scrubs the tub out right before. Even if he had scrubbed it the night before then we've taken showers just that day....he would have to scrub it all over again if I wanted to take a bath.

I also CANNOT clean a bathtub. I have not scrubbed a bathtub since we've been married and before that I was lucky enough to have my mom or roommates that didn't mind doing it. Even then I would never take a bath. Luckily DH is sweet enough to assume that household chore!

Toilets don't bother me....

I can't stand the feeling of fleece material. It gives me chill bumps.

I eat all colored candies (M&M's, Reese's Pieces) in sets of 2 matching colors.

I hate chewing gum, and I always have.

I don't like to sweat. I have had to overcome this one so I can get my necessary exercise in for the day.

I love ketchup, but I hate tomatoes.

Boy ~ you Dis people all need some therapy!

Okay, now for my strange quirks....

I have to have my food & coffee steaming HOT. For instance, each morning, my coffee maker dispenses coffee & it's steaming but once I put some milk in it, it's too cold. So...from the coffee maker to a pot on the stove it goes (Micro'd coffee cools down faster) & I bring it to nearly a boil...then it's absolutely perfect! Food, same way.....I serve my family & then I serve myself & 9 times out of 10, I have to pop my dish in the microwave. Yet, I love cold pizza!

My DH has a few really odd ones but he's obsessive compulsive, so I just learned to deal with it.
