Hey everyone so I'm sure I'm nuts for doing this but if any type of people would get me if you guys. Disney is something i have wanted to do for my birthday for years and I'm getting the chance to do it. I know its super expensive for the day but its been on my bucket list for ever. Anyways so i don't need people to tell me what a dumb idea it is .What i needed is some guidance from my wonderful disney family

Here our plan for the day what y'all think

Were getting picked up with a driver ( Quicksilver Tours ) at 1215 I'm guessing near disney around 130

Grand Floridan Drop off for monorail quickness :)

Then fast passes in MK for 4 hours :) ( i know I'm crazy )
Big Thunder,Mine Cart ( doubt we can get that ) Haunted or Pirates

Quick lunch somewhere ( grab and go)

and shopping till about 540

Pick up at grand at 615 to be hopefully back by the ship at 815 latest

Boat leaves at 9 pm

What do you all think any HELPFUL tips you guys may have or suggestions i would love thanks

Here to a crazy 28th birthday for me :)

I would use Contemporary as the drop-off/pick-up point. You won't have to factor in the Monorail and can walk to and from MK.

Your return time should be okay as long as the traffic on I4 is running smoothly and weather conditions are in your favor.

If you can purchase your tickets ahead of time to ensure a 30 day booking window, you do have a chance at mine train. I have been having great luck with FP+ for that so long as I check by around 6-8am on day 30.

If you are sailing out of PC--I would expect my driver to not take I-4. Typically the route is 417 to 528. And Barring any accidents, transit should be smooth sailing. But allowing plenty of time is always a good idea.

I agree about drop off at the Contemporary. Take Disney transport out of the equation entirely. MK is a short easy walk from the hotel.

The question is , is the short time at WDW worth it if you miss the ship?

You are cutting things very close. Any number of delays could happen.

Bus breakdown, traffic delays, construction,

Not trying to rain on your parade, but I don't think it's worth the chances of missing the ship.

Why are you arriving so late to the park? Does your ship not dock until almost noon?

I'm with the PP -- for that short of a visit, it would not be worth the worry over missing the ship. I'd possibly try it if I could get to the park a few hours earlier.

If you do decide to try it, don't do lunch in the park, eat before you get picked up.

Is this a Disney cruise? Is there an excursion to WDW that you could book with DCL? That way, if there are delays, you can be certain the ship won't leave without you. When I was in st. Marteen on a DCL excursion we had a bus break down on our return to the ship, but since we booked that through Disney we did not fret, because they won't leave without you in those circumstances.

That is not totally correct. They will hold the ship but when it reaches the point the ship may not make the next.port on time they will sail.

The advantage of a DCL excursion is they are responsible to get.you to the next port to catch up with the ship.

If your on your own, you pay to get.you and your group to the next port.

our car is leaving from disney almost an hour before the actual cruise bus does so no matter what our car will beat them :) not worried about making it back

were with Norwegian cruise i know its such a short trip everyone trust me i just have wanted to go for my birthday for problem as long as I've been alive and no matter how short ill enjoy disney :)

You know? This is just a really personal decision. It would cause me to fret and worry and have anxiety, but I am an incredibly anxious person. Chances are overwhelming that you will be totally fine. Your monetary value is obviously not great, but the experience itself will have tremendous "life" value for you. You will have to weigh all of that and decide. Sounds fun!

You're obviously aware of the risks, so as long as you're comfortable with it, that's all that matters. I see nothing in your plans that absolutely prevents it from working- there are always things that can happen- trust me, I know. We missed our Disney cruise in Dec 13 because we got stuck in Texas, on the freeway without moving for close to 18hrs. We left a day earlier than planned just in case ...no one ever factors in being stuck on the freeway for 12 hours.

The only suggestion I have is that you purchase your ticket now so that you can book your fp+'s ahead of time. You don't have time for long standby waits and there's near 0 chance you will get a 7DMT same day fp.

Have fun! Sounds like a great adventure and a perfect birthday.
