So, I am holding a reservation with my points at DVC. I'm thinking about renting the points out and booking instead through CRO at a non-DVC resort for the same dates and paying with cash.
I called CRO today to check on availability and to see what the price would be. The CR I spoke to noted that I had a duplicate reservation and so wouldn't book for me. In fact, she wouldn't even run the totals for me other than to tell me the price per night and the tax rate to let me calculate it myself. What I was really interested in was seeing if there was an AAA rate, but it didn't even get that far. She basically said I needed to cancel my DVC reservation before I could book a CRO reservation. I explained that I didn't want to do that until I actually had a confirmed reservation, but it seemed we were at a stalemate. She said that since she couldn't cancel the DVC reservation -- only MS could -- I'd have to do that first and call back. I thought about asking for a supervisor but then I figued I'd just hang up and try again with another rep.
Anyone else run into this? Seemed weird, but I'd kind of like to know what I'm dealing with before calling back.
