WEIRD annual pass Question

I just got off the phone from the CRO, I wanted to book 3 nights accomodation at santa fe from 31st sept - 3rd october. I was told that there were no annual pass rates, meaning i couldn't book a room, even without the discount............. so how can i stay at the resort.

i don't want to book a room with tickets, because there no use to me. All I want is a room only deal @ a Disney property.

They did ask if my black out days were over this period (fantasy pass), but even if they were surely i could book a room anyway, as i get discount on tickets during these dates. Anyway these dates aren't during my black out dates, i have now lost my cheap flights.... and am pretty dissapointed

I would try again. You may have got a CRO who does not understand the room only booking.
There are times when the room only rate however is more expensive

If you dont have any luck try www.expedia.co.uk as they have room only rates for the time you want to go

I read in another forum that room-only AP prices can be much cheaper than expedia anyway! So I'd agree to call CRO again, or maybe the AP office to let them confirm that you should always be enabled to book room-only, with or without the 10% discount.

You wrote "they did ask if your black out days were over" -- this sounds pretty much like someone who has no idea about APs and black-out days (I think CMs should know best when these dates are and not ask the AP holder for this).

So, call them again, even if it sounds that you won't get back your cheap flights then?

I just called the 08705 030303 number to book 3 nights at the Santa Fe, room only, with my Dream AP - they gave me 10% discount so 1 adult 1 4-year-old cost £155.07 for 25-29 September. Try calling again! (Expedia was £204.54 for the same dates)

the problem seems to be that i have a fantasy pass. I phoned again and again, thought i was getting somewhere last time. I asked for a supervisor as soon as i called. She gave me a rate of around £150, but then said she made a mistake and that was a dream pass rate......

my heart skipped a few beats when i got that awesome rate!!!

anyway..... she said that all the fantasy pass rooms have been allocated and unfortunately there is nothing i can do! Well me being me went on a rant (remembering that all the hotels are not sold out) saying that i was an annual pass holder and surely i should have priority on booking rooms. I don't even want a discount, i just want the room.

I know you can book these with expedia, but the Dream pass rate at £150 has a 10% discount. So take that discount off and i'll still be saving £30 over expedia!!!!

anyway i think i ranted so much she gave in and said i will have to ring back on monday (as some res department don't work weekends) and they would put a room into the system so i can book it . I hope she wasn't just giving me a line or their will be more of my ranting :furious

Hum, well, of course there are "room contingents" to allow DLRP doing the planning, booking, marketing with etc. They for sure don't want to reserve all of their rooms for the AP folks, thus "normal" people pay lots more for the same thing. As DLRP still had to earn money, I'm honestly appreciative of this.

On the other hand, when they tell you the wrong rates, they should try to be helpful after all. If there are "Fantasy contingents" and separate "Dream contingents", okay so far (reading the small print will ever point out that the hotel discount offer is limited to certain times and availability, too).

But after letting you know theres a bookable room they should always let you finally book that room, as long as you didn't try to feign a status you don't have. You didn't do this, it was their mistake, and well, sometimes it needs a little rant, sometimes they'll offer you something just without further request (depends on how their day was and how good their skills are).

I'll keep my fingers crossed that will work out for you with a pretty room, but I agree on staying offsite instead being a not bad alternative. Disney selected hotels are great (ever been in an Holiday Inn executive room? Neat!!). The budget hotels around (up to 3-4 stars however) will probably cost just a fraction of the Disney branded.

I'd say main question is: do you want to have a place to sleep at night, or do you want to have the magical extra... Kyriad is just nice, clean rooms, a bit far but the shuttles won't need long, but it's just a hotel, period.

Disney hotels got that special mood I think (without ever been staying in one *LOL* – I'm really someone who needs just a bed and a towel and the magic can start over the next day then
