I am forever made fun of for my allergies. I'm allergic to rosemary and I've NEVER met anyone else with that allergy. Now, it wouldn't kill me or anything, but it would make me look like a lobster for a week or two. Same with bathroom soap in *most* not all public restrooms. I think maybe it's the dye in the soap? I don't know but I always feel weird just using water and friction to wash my hands because I'm sure I'm making someone's "Most shocking moments" thread somewhere!

What weird allergies do you have?

I'm allergic to nylon, but am not sure how strange that is. I'm allergic to dust too which is really annoying! They are not serious allergies but they bring me out in rashes.

Well not weird but I am allergic to whole tomatoes. I can have sauce, which is fine because a tomato just grosses me out:crazy2:
Also bee stings and raw cotton. All of my stuffed animals had to be tossed when I was little:(

My best friend is allergic to celery and crepe paper. The celery makes her tongue swell and block off her airway, and the crepe paper makes her break out in hives.

Most of the soap in public restrooms bother me too. Guess one of my weird ones is cardboard. That stuff will give me the hives real quick. Last week I was carrying a box that touched the skin on the inside of my wrists. I was afraid people would think I had recently tried cutting myself because they were so swollen.

Another odd one could be peach skin. I can eat the flesh just fine, but not the skin. The fuzz is even worse if it touches me.

Watermelon only causes problems if it is not ice cold. Still haven't figured that one out. But now that I know it is an allergy I just avoid it all together.

I'm allergic to pork, but only in non-smoked form. So bacon and ham are ok, but pork chops, hot dogs, lunch meats, etc., aren't. Not sure what it is about smoking that makes it non-toxic to me. I guess it changes something chemically. I had a bad sensitivity to rice for a while, too, but that abated as I got older. Used to itch like craaaaazy!

My mom is allergic to most kinds of perfume-y soaps. She and my brother also both get bad rashes from red food coloring. I'm glad I didn't inherit that one.

I forgot one-New carpet! I moved into an apartment my sophomore year of college and could NOT shake the hives and couldn't figure out what they were from-finally a Student Health doctor figured it out.

DBF has new carpet at his place and for a week or so I couldn't be there at all.

Ivory soap and wet clay make me break out in hives.

I'm allergic to caffeine. I get hives and the one time I had caffeine the hives cut off my air tube and I had to be rushed to the hospital. My Grandma had given me some Tab pop, and to this day there is no chocolate allowed in her house when I'm there. It scared her just a little! They said I may outgrow the allergy as I got older, but I never tested that theory because I don't care for the smell of chocolate or coffee. :crazy2:

I'm allergic to opiates. No codeine, morphine, heroin, etc... for me.
I can have small amounts of poppy seeds, though

I worked with a guy who was allergic to poultry. No chicken, turkey, or anything like that. Must make Thanksgiving pretty difficult.

 noodles I sure do feel for you! I've never thought about that as a possible allergy before. You poor thing! I would not be able to stand that. I could live without chocolate before I could live without my Coke or tea. When I was little I was allergic to chocolate but thankfully outgrew that one.

I'm allergic to Benedryl. I found out the hard way after I took some for an allergic reaction for something else. When I got to the doctors they gave me a shot of Benedryl and it almost killed me.

I'm also bothered by soaps in public bathrooms. I carry Handi Wipes in individual packets to wash up with.

I'm allergic to caffeine and most hand lotions.

The caffeine makes me break out real bad. That leaves out chocolate, most sodas, coffee, etc.

Scented hand lotion makes my skin burn, turn red and swell up.

I break out in hives when I contach formaldahyde, like they use to preserve the critters for high school biology dissection!
I was excused from dissection in biology lab in high school, then in college, I opted not to take any class with a lab the requires dissection.

I am allergic to peanut butter (peanuts in general), bees, and Tide. I am also allergic to mowing the lawn. No, seriously, I am...I think it is something in the grass itself, it gives me hives and my face swells really bad! When our neighbors mow or weedeat, we have to shut all the windows in our house. It 's ok that I can't do yardwork though 'cause I don't think it would be any fun if I could.
