Weight Watchers Ideas

Whole wheat mini bagels...1 point. With one T of WW cream cheese 1pt.

Also, I never liked egg beaters. I found a "southwest" flavor. MUCH better. Found it at Super Wal-Mart. Super Target didn't have it. 1/2 a cup is 1 point.

I'll second the WW Smart Ones and Lean Cuisine frozen entrees.

Just wanted to say thanks the two people who suggested the 2 websites with ww recipes and points, they are awesome! I have already found 10 recipes I can't wait to try out.

oh, if you like chocolate.... wildtree makes this heavenly chocolate mousse and you can mix it w/ any cool whip (or heavy whipping cream) - i mix it w/ fat free cool whip and it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo good! it really is "heavenly" - ha! i always mix it w/ a larger tub of cool whip then it calls for, otherwise it's too chocolaty for me. anyway, it's super good and my kids also love it!

There is another site called e-mealz.com. Dave Ramsey recommends this site for meal planning savings (it does have a monthly fee). I have not used it, but have thought about using. They have meal plans based on WW points system. It looks pretty cool to me since it has your grocery list included.

This is what we do and I LOVE it!!!! It really makes doing WW so much easier...not to mention just easier grocery shopping in general. The meals are really good...even my picky DS likes most of them...and that is saying alot for him!

I am doing WW without the meetings. RIght now I am doing frozen meals for lunch and dinner. Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice and of course Smart Ones have the WW points listed. Another thing I love are the Quaker mini rice cakes in cheddar. They taste like cheetos, yum.

There is an actual calculator here to show how many points you can have:

http://www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/calculators/ww-points-allowed/

And here is a calculator for how many points are in foods:

Joining you guys! I did WW without meetings a few years ago, and was fairly successful. Need to get back on the wagon! this thread came at the prefect time for me. Thanks for everyone who has posted resources. I look forward to checking back here!

I have all the WW's cookbooks, magazines, and literature. My problem is that I can not have any type of sugar substitutes. I have a lot of recipes that I have revised from the cookbooks (they use a lot of artificial sweeteners etc). I will get some of them together tonight and post them if anyone is interested. It does affect your serving size (usually just a bit less) but they are all very good. Just let me know if anyone would like to see them.

Wow -- just jumping in to say thanks! I'd never heard of this site, but it looks awesome. I just joined and printed off 2-wks. It looks like we would like almost every recipe that's listed and they're all so easy even I could manage it :lmao:

Is there a favorite recipe form the WW cookbook you could share?

Also, thanks to those that have shared the website and the points calculator!

Yay! Love this thread!!! I am thinking of starting WW soon.

So glad I found this thread. I lost 20 lbs doing WW on my own but it took me from Jan to MAY. I walked a lot. I now need to loose about 20 more so I will surely be able to use this support. I know we could do this on the WISH board but I think the purpose of this thread is to make the weight loss budget friendly and that is why it belongs on here.

Anyway here is a French Toast/Pancake(?) recipe I make for my son (he is 19 and lost 50 lbs he no longer looks like a bouncer).

1 Flat Bread Round
1/4 C egg substitute
cinnamon to taste
vanilla to taste
1 TBS FF half and half
1 tsp mini chocolate chips

mix the ingredients as you would for french toast and dip each half of the round fry in a pan sprayed with butter flavored spray , sprinkle with mini chips when you are done. BARELY 2.5 pts. but it tastes like a dessert.

Here is another good website for finding point values for restaurant foods.

http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html

I print all the restaurants I might go to when I am out and keep a binder in the car so I can check before I go in to order. If you have a data plan on your phone you could check that way but it is a lot more work. It is worth it to just make up a notebook and turn to the page and pick rather than trying to look it up on the phone.

I find Cheesecake Factory the hardest place to eat HOWEVER now they have a Weight Management dish that is pretty good. It is three halves of a grilled chicken breast, white rice, and arugla salad on top with balsimic vinegar. IT is delicious and 590 calories. I eat one half the chicken and rice and all the salad. I take the rest home and split it for lunch and dinner the next day.

Why do so many of you specify egg substitute rather than just using real eggs?

(I'm a total rookie when it comes to weight loss).
