Weight Watchers at WDW?

We went in Feb and Dh and I decided that we would throw point counting out the window for vacation. That being said we were in the habit of making better choices anyways. We splurged with desserts and breakfast lasagna. At the end of the week he hadn't gained any weight and I was up a pound (but I was also seven months pregnant). I think with all the walking it burned up the extra calories.

I did find the biggest challenges were the buffets, for some reason I find it very difficult to controll my portions and there is way to many choices.

I am also on WW, but I didn't count points at WDW. I ate pretty much whatever I wanted.
This is: breakfast in the parks each morning. Late lunch (around 3 pm) and a snack later in the evening. I also had my Dole whips and frozen lemonade, but tried to avoid other "snacks" like fries or chips or ice cream (especially if it was just because I was bored and wanted having something to do, namely eat!)
At breakfast, I drank orange juice, during the day lots of bottled water, and during my meals diet Coke.

During the two weeks I was in the US (1 week at WDW), I only gained 2 pounds and I blame it on the cocktails and beers I had during the first week, lol!

Really, it IS vacation. You'll get frustrated if everyone else is eating, and you can't. Try to avoid buffets (that way you won't be tempted to go 11 times) (hey, I have done things like that... lol)
I you go to a TS restaurant, avoid a full meal (i.e. appetizer, entree AND dessert) Don't take dessert with your meal, but have it on another moment of teh day (afternoon ice cream or so)
Make a list of the must-have snacks (like: dole whip, creme brulee, ...) (1 for each day you'll be there) and stick to that list.
Ask the members you'll be travelling with, to support you.

And hope it'll be too hot to eat! ;)

Wow, this thread is just what I needed!! I've been OP for 15 weeks & lost 29 lbs. I will be in the World tomorrow for 8 days & a condo at the gulf for another 7. I am nervous to not go to my meeting for 2 weeks straight & also be on DDP. Last year I swear I came back 10 lbs heavier from WDW--wanted to get my money's worth on DDP!! This time I will take y'all's advice & try to make the best choices possible & have 1 splurge a day. Besides, I'm going to try not to make this trip all about the food, It's Disney for goodness sake!! There's lots more to think about than my stomach!!! Thanks guys!

Just wanted to chime in.....WI today. I lost the 2 lbs I gained last week! That's a total of 10 down, 10 to go....

I will definitely post our reviews from the standpoint of two WWers (travelling with 2 all-we-can-stuff-in-our-faces boys) when we get back!
