Weight Watchers at Disney

In addition to what other Ppers have said (good stuff!)

Here is my personal tips: don't get dessert (ever) with a CS meal. Most portions at WDW are BIG and you'll be full after eating even half. No point in already-paid-for dessert sitting there staring at you....

When you do get dessert--SPLIT IT.

The ice cream vendors have no sugar added treats that are very good.

It is now very easy to get something other than fries with meals. I'm not on WW but I don't like fried foods or "junk"--many CS offer a baked chicken leg kids meal that has carrots and applesauce and it is nice size for a small meal.

Resort grab and go options have fruit cups/bowls and most offer sushi as well.

Carry a couple of snacks/fiber bars with you and be sure to EAT BREAKFAST.

Let us know how it went!

I am going to go ahead and just share my journey on here. As of today, I have officially lost 7 lbs since I started the program about a month ago. I am so excited! It is so motivating to see the program works and gives me confidence that I can still maintain the standards (somewhat) while I am visiting the World. Thank you all so much for your advice. I will take it all in and use it to help me plan how to enjoy my vacation and eat all yummy things in moderation.

Congratulations on the loss Disneychick! The good feeling of being on WW is addictive as you achieve your step-by-step goals you become more confident and proud of yourself and you learn that making better choices and doing good for yourself by eating healthy feels SOO much better than an ice cream cone or cookie. I eat a cookie and a minute or two later the taste is gone, but the good feeling of achieving weight loss and a healthier lifestyle is alwasy with me...

Way to go! You're doing great. I lost 110 pounds on weight watchers and am still excited and motivated by the program. And like you, I am looking forward to my Disney vacation and that motivates me even more to stay on track, cecause I've been to Disney pre and post WW and it feels so much better to be there 110 less!

We splt meals when we go. I didn't read all the advice so not sure if I'm repeating myself. But my husband and I will split a counter service breakfast and lunch and then, eat a regular dinner. Or we'll eat in the room, we usally have a kitchen so, I make some breakfast. I find that at WDW I'm need a high protein breakfast because of all the walking. I don't do well with sweets or muffins or granola bars for breakfast. Also, if we do a buffet breakfast we don't eat again until dinner and we make sure it is counter service. I also looked for salads and fruits for snacks and appetizers.

The portions are huge so, you can split a lot of stuff.

Oh and if you are "new" to watch weighters I really would avoid buffets until you are closer to your goal weight.

First of all, whether or not you know it, you will naturally make better choices while at Disney simply from habit of being on WW. Also you will find some of those yummy treats you used to scarf down will over fill you and make you feel uncomfortable and you will not want to eat as much as you will get full sooner.

I just got back from my first post-trip weigh-in. I lost .4 from my last normal Saturday morning weigh-in. And I was stuffed for quite a lot of our trip.

We had WDW, Universal, and a 3 night Disney cruise during our trip. I generally focused on one really solid meal per day, but didn't starve the rest of the day. I just didn't eat a ton. Once I go through my trip report stuff and receipts I could probably work out about what I had, but that would be boring, LOL. We drank lots of water.

Speaking of water, not everyone finds Orlando water to be nasty! That said, we do buy cases of Zephyr Hills for normal drinking.

I tried to eat fruit when possible, and being vegetarian I tried to focus on vegetable-containing meals. DH and I shared a Bounty Platter one morning and it was perfectly enough (they did give us extra eggs in place of the meat).

On our last night we ate at Territory Lounge at WL, and I will tell you, ONE order of fondue is probably enough for two adults, especially if those adults are both on WW! We ordered two, not realizing that they would be generous with portions, and we had SO many leftovers that couldn't be eaten the next morning. :(

I ate what I wanted; but what I wanted was far less than it was a year ago.

I do agree to stay away from buffets when early on in the journey. Then again, if it's what you truly enjoy and you are OK with a possible gain, go for it. Just know that you might not get as much "value" from the buffet than you used to get. We went to Tusker House, and that was one of the very few meals where I ate enough to be in pain. It's just soooooo good. I tried to get tiny portions, because there's so much there that I love, but it was just all too good. We also went to Sweet Tomatoes, where I just let my stomach be my guide.

Honestly, the hardest part of the trip was coming home! Our fridge was very empty, and the jet lag hit me HARD, so I couldn't get out for shopping for 2 full days. Our flight was full of eating (United's Tapas box meal is delicious, but full of fat) and then our time home has involved pizza etc. Getting back on track has been very much wanted, but when you can't get to the store because you're so exhausted, it's hard. :) Today is a new day and a new tracking week for us, so it's fine.

Anyway, that's my recent experience! DH did well also, but had a small gain. He is *extremely* sensitive to water-weight, and was taking ibuprofen the whole trip which causes water-weight in him above normal. Since he was injured going in to the trip, he wasn't as active as I was. So all in all it makes sense that he had a gain and I had a teensy loss.

And for the record, the pastry near Canada's showcase with something like cherry and cream cheese was huge and beautiful, but possible the most tasteLESS pastry I have ever had! Same goes for the chocolate chip cookie DS got from there. Not sure how they managed to make such gross "treats", but we will be avoiding that kiosk in the future. It was not points-worthy. :)

Ok so day one and two of Disney Vacation down. The first day I started with Animation waffles and sausage for breakfast, croquet monsieur for the France bakery for lunch with a macaroon for dessert, and a Subway sandwich for dinner. I didn't do too well on the first day, but I had a lot of fun. I made sure that in addition to all the walking, I am taking stairs whenever possible. When day two arrived, I was apparently super tired because I slept in until noon! Sheesh! I woke up too late for breakfast anywhere, so I got a banana. I wasn't really hungry until 3, so I had a late lunch. I went to Pinnochio(I don't know how to spell that) Village House. I had a pepperoni flatbread with an iced coffee and a chocolate cake. I felt full after just half of the flatbread, so I stopped eating. The iced coffee was gross, so I just had water. The cake was TOO sweet, so I didn't eat it. Magic Kingdom closed at 1. I had a late dinner at Caseys. I got corn dog nuggets and French fries. I had every thing I got and it was delicious. My dessert was cracker jacks, which I didn't eat.

Overall, I think I am doing alright. Hopefully today I can do a little better.

Have a magical day!
