weight ?? on rides

I am quite Pooh sized and had plenty of seatbelt length on Soarin. The seat itself was snug but not uncomfortable. The only things that were a little tricky for me (and I was alone w/ my DS so no experience w/ the "big" rides)

Turnstiles at Carousel of Progress were the worst! Haunted Mansion weren't much better.
Back seat of Winnie the Pooh has a tiny opening. The front is fine.
Teacups required a bit of maneuvering but as long as you get the angle right it's ok

Most of the "turnstiles" now are the electronic kind, where there isn't a bar. :thumbsup2

Oh, I was looking at TOT seating, is there really only a seatbelt holding you in? It seems like it should be something more!

I never had trouble with any rides when I was overweight. Depends on how much. I remember that one roller coaster with molded seats was a little tight, but, I can't remember which. I had more trouble with turnstiles than anything else. If your friend is a "little overweight", she should have no trouble at all, as I was close to "morbidly obese" before I lost weight.

Has anyone had issues with Dumbo or Barnstormer? Or the tomorrowland speedway?
thanks Jill
PS LOVE the phrase "pooh sized"

The only Ride I have had issues with was when riding Kali River Rapids with DW. I am pooh sized (6'5 310lbs) and DW isnt big but isnt small either, and it we couldnt get the seat belt to go around both us for some reason... It was very odd... Do the belts just have no give?

I was 5'6" and almost 350lbs when I went to WDW in September. I didn't have any trouble getting on or off any rides. The molded seats on some of the rides were a bit tight but nothing major. I was able to join my son on every ride I wanted to go on, and a couple he begged be to.

I don't think your friend will have any problems.

My sister is about 5'8" and around 325lbs and there was not one ride she didnt fit on/in. The only thing she said was kind of a tight squeeze was Dinosaur but otherwise she did every coaster and major ride with us last year.

We have a pooh size person in our group and she doesn't have any problems either. That is one of the great things we love about disney, everyone can go on the rides without a bunch of worry. On Rock N' Roller Coaster I think we asked for the odd number seats(I think:confused3 ) as they are easier to get in and out of(it was the very front). She didn't have any trouble riding at all, now enjoying it, that maybe another story:rotfl:

Also about pulling the seat belts out, MAKE SURE that if they need to retract that they do. When we rode dinosaur she pulled hers all the way out and had a ton of slack left over that didn't retract. Needless to say that turned out to be a very unpleasant ride. I also sit on the side the belt buckles in and help her with it. No problems on any other rides at all. The barnstormer is also fine, it clicks where it needs to, but its a really small seat. Your friend or family member may have to sit by themselves but they'll have plenty of room for just them:)

Even Mission Space was not a problem-and that was the one ride she was miserable with worrying about. She fit no problem AT ALL. On Soarin' I had to fasten her seat belt-but I honestly think she was just nervous about the ride taking off before she got it snapped in. The Disney At Large One Size Does Not Fit All is a GREAT tool. A previous diser posted the link-check it out!!!

Bottom line(after I wrote a book, sorry!) don't worry about fitting into the attractions. Disney is the most accomidating park we've ever been to::yes:: -and one of the reasons we love it so much-everyone can have a great time:thumbsup2

All the trips I have made to WDW I have only seen one person that was turned away from a ride because of their size. Basically it came down to the fact that on R&R Coaster, they couldn't get the restraint down far enough to lock and so of course they wouldn't let them ride.

I am sure there are other rides that could be an issue if the restraint won't fit for some people, but there are many other rides that don't have that issue.
