Hello Mean Leaners.....'member me???
I'm so sorry I have not been posting, but life has been crazy.....mostly good crazy but still crazy nonetheless. I haven't forgotten you guys....I just haven't had the time to post. OK let's see, since I last posted I did the DL half and met up with a whole bunch of other WISHers. I did a 3:07:59 -not a PR by any means, but fairly respectable since it ended up getting VERY hot and there was no shade to be found. Not to complain though, it could have been sooooo much worse but luckily the morning was somewhat overcast and we were spared that scorching California sun for most of the race.
I came home to a huge backlog of work and then threw myself full force into training for NYC. Life threw me a little curveball and I ended up with some crazy bada$$ medical issues which fortunately seemed to disappear as quickly as they appeared......knock on wood. Then just last weekend my daughter and the Greek came to visit and we were busy, busy with wedding stuff. NYC is getting very close....thank goodness! I have my 18-miler tomorrow and it's going to be boring! Then, in 2 weeks, I'll be doing 20 miles on a really neat trail that I especially saved for the occasion and I am actually looking forard to that one. Then, it's taper, taper, taper and.....SHOWTIME!!!!!! I'll be so glad when this over.
I have been scanning most of the postings but may have missed some things here and there.....you know I love you all even if I fail to address your individual issues.
Mandac: Welcome!
Deb: sorry about your internet problems. How awesome that the filming took place so closeby....any celebrity sightings? Please give DOOD a big congrats from me for his race!
Beth: Thanks for keeping us on track and WTG on your PR in Philly!
Maria: congrats on getting your proposal through and for always being so upbeat. So happy you're losing your toxic co-worker!
Cindy: I really admire you for avoiding the pizza party. I could NEVER do that and would rationalize some cockamamie excuse to be there and EAT! WTG for being so disciplined.
Vicky: Bikinis? I am so jealous! I can barely work up the courage to be seen in a grandma suit!
Wendy: so sorry to hear about your mom. Hope things are looking better and sending lots of pixie dust your way. If I had known that you and Jackie were in the same Galloway, I probably would have signed up for it also. But since I have only 2 more long walks to go, I won't be joining this year. Are you also doing OBX? John plans to do it and I will either volunteer or use the spectator shuttle to me a one-person scream team for both of you.
Jackie: you have been soooo awesome with your training and are gonna rock thr Richmond marathon!
