Weight loss for Wishers and becoming Leaner Meaners!

Hello lean meaners!

Quick drive by:drive: to say hi! Thanks to Maria and Vicky for dropping by so I wasn't so alone!!!!:guilty:

Maria: I think going organic is a great idea. I try to get as much as I can organic, if it's priced friendly! It can't be anything but good!

Vicky: Things must be going well if you are buying bikinis!!! WTG! Can't get any better than that!

AFM: Still in VA beach. The weather for the race (and the whole weekend) has been fabulous! I got myself a PR today.....and I am shocked. I had my sites on Philly in 2 weeks, but the weather cooperated today, and I got it done. My time 2:22:44. I took 2 minutes off......and my previous PR was from 2006. It took a long time to come, but I got it done!!!:cool1: I was spot on my pace at 10:30 to 10:40 most of the race, and was very one minded. It is not a comfortable pace for me yet......I naturally resort to my comfortable pace of 11:00 min miles. I had to really watch my Garmin, and keep on it. It worked and I am happy.

We are soon headed to the concert (The Black Crowes) so I will check in later.

Beth

Hey Lean Meaners! :wave2:

Beth - Congrats on your PR! Glad you were able to maintain that 10:30 pace for most of the race. I have a tough time doing that as well. I usually try to find someone else who's running the same pace so I can follow behind them :cutie:

Oh the bikini... yeah I just needed something for October. I'm (very) far from having the SI swimsuit model's physique but I figured why not. It's also a little bit of a reminder and extra motivation to stay away from the junk for the rest of the month :)

AFM - I went to the gym today and worked out with a different trainer. My PT was off today. We did some "ladder" exercises - lots of hopping and jumping through a grid that looks like a ladder. It reminded me of hopscotch or doing running through tires. I think the hardest one was doing a set of push ups down the ladder and then back again. He said they're suppose to help runners with speed. Unfortunately, since I'm not the most coordinated person, we spent a lot of time just getting the exercises down.

Oh does anyone know if there's a way to get a black toenail to go away quickly? I removed my pedicure yesterday night and saw I had a black toenail. I couldn't figure out what it was from because I don't remember having any foot or toe pain. I guess I'll probably have to put the polish back on.

Have a great day everyone!

I'm still on limited internet time, but wanted to drop by and say that I miss you all! : I hope to carve out some time tomorrow or Thursday for my WISHers friends. :grouphug

Congrats to you, Beth! Great news on the weight lost and the 1/2 mary PR. You've earned every pound and second lost. IMO you are the winner of that spa challenge--in every way!

Maria, great news on the food and exercise re-tooling front. You're setting yourself up for success and I see Atlantis in your future. WTG with your 3.8 loss, too!

Vicky, I'd probably risk a chipped tooth for peanut M&Ms. :lmao: Congrats on your very impressive time on your (very cheap) 10K this weekend. :rotfl: I was out too late for my LR this weekend, too, so 10 miles turned into 8.5 and a bonk. I must remember that the next time I hit the alarm and say "five more minutes." :rolleyes1

And a very special shout-out: Happy Birthday, Jackie!! :drinking1:bday::cake:

Okay, must run. (Not literally. It's my rest day, but there's work to be done.)

Hey Leaner Meaners!!! How's it going?

Debra: Glad to see you dropped by! We miss you....hope your internet issues are fixed soon. Sorry to hear you had a stonker run.....happens to the best of us! Last week I did 11 miles total with 5 in the morning and 6 in the evening.....the last mile was torture! I felt exhausted, with so much effort to lift my legs it was incredible. I think it's probably a little like what you feel with your B/B runs. Ugh.....

Vicky: Sorry you can't find the Jello pudding.....:guilty: The Boston Creme pie pudding is awesome! Maybe you will get it soon!

Jackie: Happy Birthday!!! Sorry I missed that earlier!

AFM: The recovery from Sunday's 1/2 marathon went smoothly! Just a teensy bit sore on Monday, with a strength session for 30 minutes and back at my running on Tuesday. I have to say it was the easiest recovery I have had!!!! I must be in shape or something! ;)

My dh had my medal ingraved for me at Virginia Beach since it was a PR (and I am sure I don't know when that will happen again.....it took 4 years this last time!) It was nice of him to do..... it had my name and my chip time ingraved on the back (only $20.00!). Nice momento!

I ate too much over the weekend, but I am back on the wagon as of today.....I had a run in with an order of cheese fries yesterday! :scared1: It's hard to come back off the carbs again! I will get back on the scale by Friday to see the damage, but I feel great anyway!

I have the Philly 1/2 marathon in two weeks, and I am not sure how I am going to approach it. That is where I wanted to PR....nice weather, nice flat course.....but since I did it at VA beach, I don't know how I feel about a repeat performance. I am a little worried to try again.......and fail! I don't know what I will do.....I will keep you all updated!

The thread appears dead......so if you are lurking, check in please!

Beth

Just a quick post to say hi. We were away over the long weekend and I was enjoying the last day of summer vacation with my son yesterday so I've been busy, busy, busy. I hope I can get on tomorrow to post responses to everyone, just wanted to say yea to Beth for the PR and weight loss challenge results, yea to Vicky for a new bikini and yea to Maria for the diet over haul and 3.8 lbs.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Good Evening, Lean Mean Machines!

Cindy -- Are you ready to really kick it with WW?! I'm going to earn 21 activity points this week. Next week I'm going to shoot to improve, and do so until I get to 28! :thumbsup2

Beth -- It is awesome you have your PR on your medal! What a totally thoughtful DH! And you certainly earned those cheese fries. We have to indulge every once in awhile to avoid a big 'splosion! ::yes::

Debra -- We miss you, too! We are eagerly awaiting your triumphant return! :cool1:

Vicky -- No advice for the black toenail, and I think the bikini is an awesome incentive to keep working hard! Wear it with pride! :cutie:

Ok, Jeanne, -- tell us about your DL experience! I saw some great photos on the O'Hana thread! :yay:

Jackie -- A belated
Happy Birthday to You!:dance3:

I'm sorry this is not a good posting week for me. I walked in Tuesday and found out I had to do a proposal I would normally take 3 weeks for by next Monday, so I'm going non-stop at work with zero DIS time.

It's ds's first almost-full week of school, and it turns out 6th grade requires a lot of preparation each evening. Actually, it's more accurate to say it requires a lot of Mom and Dad telling him to quite procrastinating and get moving! He's mastered reading Dr. Who comic books, though :rolleyes1

On the bright side, I'm journaling at WW Online and hitting my workouts. I'm hoping for a nice loss on Friday. I know, any loss is a nice loss! :cheer2:

I'm making fish and steamed veggies for dinner tonight. I'm really looking forward to it. I know it's a little odd, but I just love steamed veggies! I think it's the crispness. :cloud9:

Anyway, off to get that moving, 'cause I'll be sleepy by 9 if history repeats itself... :faint:

Maria :upsidedow

Maria: I hear ya with the being tired! I am asleep by 10 pm usually....not because I am wanting to go to sleep, it just happens. I am usually exhausted at that point. It doesn't win me any points with my dh.....he's a night owl.

Cindy: Glad to see you drop by! I miss seeing you guys!

AFM: I was taking stock of my exercise this year and added some of my numbers.....

2009: minutes of exercise - 15,973
miles in 2009 - 1238.22

Not to shabby! The only thing I don't like about my mileage is going through running shoes.....it gets expensive replacing them so often! But, I'll take that over the 35 pounds I lost!

Beth

/
Hey Lean Meaners!

Beth - I hear ya on the running shoes! I replace mine about 3-4 times a year. I'm planning to order a few pairs to be delivered to the hotel in October. They're about 1/2 price in the US but still... :) WTG on the mileage for the year so far! Post the total again in December, I can't wait to see where you're at then!

Maria - Good luck on your proposal this week! I hope you lose lbs on your weigh in this week.

Jackie - Happy belated birthday! Hope it was a fantastic day!

Debra - We miss you!! Sorry to hear about your 10 miler. I laughed when I read your post because that's exactly what I do on the weekends. Somehow that 5 minutes turns into 25 ... into 40 ... into an hour...:rolleyes1

AFM - I was suppose to go to the gym tonight but there was a bit of a snafu and my training appointment wasn't booked. I was a little miffed because there wasn't an apology or anything like that. The person who was suppose to have made the appointment even forwarded back the e-mail where she wrote she booked that appointment. I'm not sure what that was suppose to accomplish - I'm thinking she didn't read it very carefully. I felt like she was trying to prove she was in the right... Ah well! I will do a set of core exercises tonight myself :)

I weighed myself on Tuesday and I'm down 1.1 lbs ... unfortunately, that means I'm still up another pound from my previous gain. My eating has been better this week. No sugar and no red meats but I haven't been consistant with my water. I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone!

Still not getting the time I need for the internet--sorry. I'm just trying to stay away from the coffee shops, as I know coffee and noshing while online are contributing to this week's weight gain....:sad2:

Beth: I meant to say how impressed I am that you're racing at a comfortable hard pace and being consistent. I don't know what will happen at Philly, but I know you should be proud of yourself. You've really had a great training year in 2009, with no end in sight! You're going to hit 20,000 minutes this year.

Also, I've been meaning to tell you, DOOD (and me) love your "Better than Olive Garden" fettucini alfredo. It IS better than Olive Garden's!

Maria: Non-stop work? Boo. And come on, what's more important? Dr. Who or homework? Priorities, woman, priorities! But yeah for everything else, especially your WW journaling online! I'm a fan or steamed--or better yet, raw--veggies myself. More flavor to my thinking. (It could be that I'm a lazy cook, though.)

Cindy: I hope your last long weekend was everything that the capper to a summer should be: warm but not oppressive, relaxing but with a fun activity or two outside of the "normal" weekend, and filled with good friends and family!

Vicky: Bikini, huh? You're a bold, bold women who's earned every drop in jean size and that bathing suit. I'm sure DF appreciates how strong, athletic, and just plain hot you are! I keep forgetting you need to plan to shop for shoes and other things while in the U.S. to keep costs down. That's got to be a drag. Oh, and I think that you're right about the appointment-setter; just wants to be right and to avoid your wrath. (Spread it around, I say. Everyone deserves the blame--excepting you.)

Wendy: Details from the DL 1/2, please!

Jackie: Details on the birthday, please!

Sarah: How's the work situation?

As for me: Bad eating week, too many snacks at coffee shops. Normally I have a higher resistance, but I'm sick this week. I think it's a post-bonk vulnerability combined with a snap in the weather. Just a cold--not H1N1--but it makes it hard to say no to the nosh. And I've had lighter workouts all week. Just no energy. Luckily, this is my easy week. No b2b LRs this week, just going for a 12 miler. And short, easy runs midweek. Hopefully I'll rest up this weekend.

In other news, I submitted my application to the Disney Moms panel, which opened today. I spent too much time on it, and they're accepting 20,000 submissions. I know, I know, I'm not a mom and have no real shot at it. But you don't know until you try, right? :confused3 It sounds like it would be lots of fun, so everyone should put in an app! :cool1:

Debra: I am sorry to hear that you still are having internet issues......we miss you when you are not here.:headache: I hope it gets resolved soon. Good luck with the Disney Mom panel! What does it entail? Has to be something fun for you to spend so much time with it.....I hope it works out for you! (((((and you can borrow my kids ANYTIME!)))))

Thanks for your encouragement. This year has been interesting.....it's been tough work, but I am really happy with where I am at right now. I have had several compliments lately that really stunned me. This week I had a respiratory therapist I know causally come up to me. What she said took me back alittle....she said something like "I have admired you for a long time. I don't know how you lost weight and keep it off so well (not quite, but ok). I envy you." The word envy took me back......I am not sure what to think about that. I did tell her thank you, but also said that what I have done and continue to do is possible for anyone. ((((after telling her it's a pain in the A_ _!)))) The work I have done has been hard......but I never expected someone to envy that!

The comments have been nice, but I have to say it's not the same as it used to be. I used to NEED the comments to keep the positive reinforcement to continue. Now I don't need the compliments anymore. :dance3: I have a better sense of what I need from my life, and what exercise does for me other than weight loss. It's been a real calming influence for me.....I have a anxiety issue I didn't know I have (reason for eating my whole life). It got out of hand when I started losing weight (b/c I couldn't medicate with food). Now I don't have as bad of issues now when I work out. I just have to remind myself of that!

I got two runs in yesterday (and thought of you!) 5.25 miles in the am, and 3.1 miles of speed work in the pm (thank you baseball practice!). I was running on tired legs, but it was not too bad keeping a pace of 9:45 to 10:00 miles for the 3.1 miles. I am surprized with that since I did the 1/2 marathon less than a week ago! I am pleased with that.

It's raining here today, so no outside run for me, but I will get on the TM later for at least 5!

Beth

I am just bumping up the Lean Meaner thread so it doesn't get lost. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.....it's still raining here! I hate rain more than anything....no run outside again today. UGH!

Beth

Just popping in to say hi. My coworker who's been out for 7 1/2 weeks returned to work on Thursday, so I finally get to return to doing only my job. Unfortunately, that's not quite the decrease in work that it might have been, since our company was sold 9/1 and the new owners have requested a full inventory on 10/1. Guess who gets to coordinate that? It's a really good thing she came back to work when she did; otherwise, it would have been virtually impossible for me to do her job, my job, AND prepare and pull off the inventory. I jokingly left a vacation request form on my boss's desk Friday for October 12-30, anticipating that we'll be through with reconciliation by that date!

I've been a very bad Lean Meaner. The injured coworker is also known for her amazing brownies, and she sent a box of them on Tuesday for my birthday. There was nothing I could do but eat them, right? Fortunately, I had a lot of help! Aside from that, my eating habits are rotten. My exercise habits are somewhat better, but the last time I dared to step on the scale I was back to within 1 pound of my original weight. Ugh! I'm sure all the alcohol I've consumed during the past few weeks isn't helping, so I'm vowing to cut back on that and hope that the work stress lessens enough to allow me to keep that promise...

Beth - Congrats on the PR at Va Beach! How sweet of your DH to have your medal engraved. And what a wonderful job you've done working out this year. Running shoes are a small price to pay for that.

Maria - I much prefer steamed veggies, preferably on the side of raw. Your dinner sounded wonderful, especially since I'm reading this while eating sandwiches for dinner!

Vicky - I think once the toenail turns black, all you can do is wait for it to grow out (or fall off). Nail polish is a wonderful thing. You can cover up black toenails, or you can paint on toenails where there are none!

Jackie

Hi Lean Meaners. I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for not being around much.

Jackie: I'm glad that work should get better soon. Good luck with the inventory. Belated birthday wishes. How could you not eat the brownies? It would have been rude.

Beth: That's pretty awesome that you are the envy of someone. But I love that you told her that it's possible for anyone to do it. I think that some people just look at the final result and don't think about what one has to do to get there. It is a lot of hard work but it's not impossible as you show so well. And WOW on those YTD numbers!!

Debra: I hope you are feeling better and get back to eating a healthy diet. I know when I am sick I want all the sugary stuff even more. I saw on FB that your LR had to be shortened. I imagine that being sick contributed to that. My last weekend of summer was just wonderful with camping and hiking and a day just for my DS and I to spend together.

Maria: I'm sorry work will be so busy for you. Boo for no Dis time. Good for you that you are tracking your WW pts. 21 activity pts is a great goal. I hope to earn at least 2 on my non-running days with a goal to get that up to 4 per non-running day. I envy that you love steamed veggies. I don't really like veggies at all besides corn and peas of course the less healthy ones. I'll eat a salad, but can't say I love it.

Vicky: At least you are starting to lose some of the recent weight gain, that's always good. Sorry your workout got messed up. Good for you to do some exercise anyway. I might have just sat around in a huff. I just keep painting my black toe nails. Thank goodness for dark colors.

I have recently joined the Biggest Loser Challenge on the Wish board. I'm hoping it helps with the motivation. I have had bouts of 2 or 3 good days where I eat well, then I lose my motivation again. I really need to buckle down for the next 5 weeks until my race. Yesterday was my DH's bday so I decided that his bday cake would be my last hurrah and starting today I'll get back to eating well. Oatmeal for breakfast, so far so good.

I ran 18 miles on Friday. It went pretty well. I was about 15 sec/mile slower than I wanted to be, but I'm not going to fret about that. I'm sure some of it is the extra 5 lbs I've been carrying around. I had been avoiding the scale for a couple weeks, but got on for the BL. I am now 13 lbs away from my goal. I know what to do, it's just a matter of doing it now.

We have nothing planned for today, so it will be a good opportunity to make a shopping list and plan out some good healthy meals for the week.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Hello My Lean Mean Buddies!

Ok, I'm done feeling sorry for myself. I had a rotten weekend with bad eating and very little exercise. I was doing great, and I just fell apart at the first signs of TOM. I'm hoping to still pull it together, even with the water weight gain I can actually see. Like that isn't depressing enough...I'm also on the BL Fall Challenge, and for some reason, no one comments on or answers my posts to date. That hasn't ever happened before, and it's making me wonder? Ok, maybe I'm not completely done with the psycho hormone pity party. Tomorrow will be better!

On the bright side, one of the proposals I was working so hard on in August was funded (haven't heard about the other one yet). So, 105 homeless people will be able to move into housing with supportive services with the funding. And they'll be able to stay because part of the application was housing vouchers.

Cindy -- You are so close to your goal, I am sure you will get there. Anyone who can train like you do has tremendous mental energy!

Jackie -- Brownies sound really good right now. We are going to visit the SIL I don't like Saturday, and I have to make something to bring. Hmmmm.

Beth -- I am so proud of you! No longer needing outside validation is amazing! You so totally rock! And you keep running and working out every day -- I think that's the sources of your amazing supportive and positive attitude!

Debra -- I think you would be great on the Disney Moms' Panel! They also take dads (despite the name), and I don't think you have to be a parent to know alot about Disney and planning a wonderful vacation! You bring a great element with your knowledge of the races, and I think they would be lucky to have you!

Vicky -- I did have a good weigh-in, down 2.2 lbs! Then I went crazy eating this weekend, I think I scare myself when I get too close to a goal...

Ok, off to get ready for the new Scooby Doo movie on Cartoon Network. I promised ds we'd watch together.

Maria :upsidedow

Maria: Congrats on the proposal! That has to feel good! You have given alot of people a wonderful blessing......I am proud of you.

Don't get so down about the weekend. We all have been there....just pull yourself up and don't look back. I think it's a good learning mechanism when we have a troubling time with food. Gives you a different perspective.....next time maybe you can nip it in the bud faster!

I didn't have a great eating weekend either. For some reason Saturday was an eating bonanza and I was extremely tired. Bone weary tired. I thought I might be getting sick or something....but I didn't. I had no energy at all, but mananged to talk myself into a little TM time. I actually felt better moving, so I stayed on for the whole hour! Serves me right!

Cindy: Sounds like you and Maria are in the same boat! Same advice for you....don't be so hard on yourself! You have done such a good job with things, don't let a little slide get you down.

AFM: I am really looking forward to fall.....not usually my best season, but the cooler weather rocks! (I'll skip the rain, thank you!)

I can't believe I am running another 1/2 marathon this weekend.....I think I am crazy! But, Philly is one of my favorites.....usually beautiful weather, and a nice flat course!

I think my recent mileage is catching up with me. I actually had 55 miles last week! (((((too many!)))) I think that might have lead to my tiredness on Saturday. I did cut back this past week to only 35 miles.......good thing too.

Debra: I feel like I am living on my TM! The majority of my miles are on the TM right now since it's the early morning thing. I have to get off at 30min to wake up #1 son to shower and get ready. I get back on for another 30min while he showers. When #1 son leaves, I have to wake up #2 son for the same routine.....my mornings stink! I am up so early.....leads me to fall asleep earlier and earlier every night!

****disclamier***** I do love my TM though.....I know the above post isn't oozing love, but I do! I am really grateful to have found a gently used TM that was so cheap!

I found myself a great healthy blueberry muffin recipe over the weekend, and was using them as a recovery food after my runs......I love real recovery food! I am not such a fan of bars, gels, and drinks. I will take a blueberry muffin anytime!

Beth

Hey Lean Meaners! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Just a quick drive by for me today... I did my 11 and 5 milers on the weekend. I have to say that both went well even if the pace was a little slower than I would have liked. I think I'm finally getting use to longer distances because I only felt some muscle soreness at the end - no fatigue or anything like that.

My sister's birthday was on the weekend. They had planned to go to a buffet restaurant. I'm really not one to tell someone where they should eat their birthday dinner but I just had to say something. My sister is obese, my dad has high cholesterol and diabetes (you'd never tell by looking at him though because he's slender). I just told them (maybe a little too matter of factly) they shouldn't be eating at a buffet. It didn't go over too well  but in the end they changed restaurants and they all ended up ordering salads  Tough love hurts sometimes I guess!

On a sadder note, I'm probably going to have to cancel my October trip. DF's grandma isn't doing too well. The doctor wasn't very specific with times - while she's not expected to pass within hours, it's definitely not going to be months. I guess it's a wait and see right now but we only have two weeks to go and I wouldn't feel good about going.

I'll try and check back in later! Have a great day everyone!

Hi Everyone,

Vicky: So sorry to hear about DF's Grandma. I hope she doesn't suffer. I'm sorry for you if you have to cancel your trip.

Beth: Wow, 55 miles in a week is a lot. You could be right that it's just finally catching up to you. Best of luck in your race this weekend.

Maria: Sorry you had a rough weekend. I hear you. I've never done one of the BL challenges before, so I didn't know what to expect, but with such a large thread, I can't see how anyone has time to respond to individual posts. I hope you are back on track now. Glad you had a loss last week, hopefully if you buckle down now you'll see a loss this week too. I find I am strong when it comes to the workouts, but truly insane when it comes to food.

I am taking a just for me day today. Originally I was supposed to go to the dentist, but the hygenist is sick, so that was cancelled. I have a bit of a cough so I decided to cancel my workout for today. I have a massage scheduled for this afternoon. I'm sure I should be folding laundry or cleaning some mess, but I'm allowing myself the day off today.

Have a great day.
Cindy

Hey Meaners!

I should be reading a performance report, but I can't face 65 pages of beaurocratese this afternoon. Tomorrow AM, I'll be all over it.

Feeling better today, and planning to workout when I get home. I had lunch at P.F. Chang's and I'm proud to say I limited myself fairly well. I had hot and sour soup but only sipped the broth. I had a lunch bowl with shrimp and lobster sauce and brown rice, and I skipped dessert (yes, I watched my co-worker eat a chocolate raspberry shot) and the fortune cookie. I also had a half hour walk there and back, so that's something.

I'm planning on skipping the sausage we have for dinner and having hummus and veggies instead. I'm going to do my best to get back to where I should be, even with TOM and my excess this weekend. Even if I don't make it, the fact that I'm trying is progress.

Cindy -- Normally on the BL Challenge, the Coach answers each post. I agree that it seems impossible with the thread the size it is right now, I need to remember that. I'm also being sobered reading all the reasons people motivate themselves to lose weight. I know my health could be better, but for some of these people it really sounds like life and death. Puts my whining in perspective. you absolutely deserve a day for you! Enjoy! :yay:

Vicky -- So sorry to hear about df's grandma and your rescheduled trip. WDW will still be there, maybe better than ever.

Beth -- Another Half this weekend?! :cheer2: I too love my TM. I complain about working out, but it is such a blessing to have it! Gotta get that glass half full again!

Have you guys heard about the changes to Fantasyland and the new Star Tours? Even though I don't have a little princess, I am psyched! Even if I have to take a trip by myself in 2013 when it's all done, I'm going! Actually, that's pretty likely, I doubt my 15 year old ds will be interested in meeting the princesses in their homes! Then again, they will be pretty girls...:lmao:

Everyone have an awesome day, and we'll make tomorrow even better!

Maria :upsidedow

Good morning Lean Meaners! How's it going? The week is proceding quickly already!

Maria: Yeah, we need to show the love to the TM! ;) I do tell myself everyday that I am really lucky to have it. I couldn't do the mileage I am without it! I would never be able to get to the gym in the morning....and that's when I do the majority of my miles! I tell my dh that I love it just about weekly! ((((he is the one to find it, buy it, and lug it upstairs. That's love folks!)))))

So, maybe should you have yourself a little girl!!! Sounds like you would appreciate all the disney perks of having a little girl; maybe put that into your agenda! (ha!)

Vicky: You know, I find that I eat less at a buffet. I think I am always worried about making myself sick eating to much.....that and looking around at the typical patrons of such establishment. When I see such large people eating so much, it tends to turn me off. Good for you in standing up for what is right!!! No one should eat at buffets.....it's just not good to eat 'your monies worth!'

AFM: I feel back on track with things. VA beach had set some 'free' eating patterns in motion, and I had to get a grip on that. I jumped on the scale today, and I am only 2 pounds up. Not to bad....I thought it would be worse. I will attempt to get them off by the weekend! ((((Philly 1/2 marathon, with another weekend away....:rolleyes1)

I am increasing my morning mileage alittle by going faster instead of longer. I am keeping to the 60 min in the morning, but now run 5.5 miles instead of 5.0 I am eventually going to get to 6.0 miles in an hour (which is pushing it, I must say! Especially first thing in the morning) I don't really have the extra time to go longer in the morning, so my consession is to go a little faster! I run faster outside, but that's only because I got into a rut on the TM and didn't push myself. My old TM couldn't keep up, but the new one is spot on!!!! Again, I am lucky!

Beth

Good Morning Everyone,

While I have the time I'll post again. Yesterday was nice, but I ended up moping around a bit, then started eating and couldn't stop. I am trying the 3 hours between meals/snack rule today to get back on track. Despite the cold I am starting, I got out for a swim this morning. I knew it would help get the day off to a good start and so far so good. I'll try to get out for a walk at lunchtime to soak up this great weather we are having.

Beth: Good job on increasing your speed on the TM. I do appreciate that I own one. I realize it is a luxury that not all people have and I truly appreciate it in the winter when the weather is just too crummy to get outside. 2 lbs is not a big deal, I am sure you'll get rid of it quick. Is Philly close enough to just go there for the race, or will you stay in a hotel?

Maria: Hope you are able to take on the 65 pages this morning with gusto. You do such an amazing service for so many. Good for you. I agree with you about all the motivation people have for BL8. Mine is pretty self-centered I guess in that I just want to be a faster runner and to look better, but I guess living a long healthy life and being a role model to my daughters are side effects of that. Hopefully your hormones have stabilized. Good for you for getting your workout in last night. I'm looking forward to watching the new season of BL, but it's on too late for me, so I'll have to tape it and watch it tomorrow or over a couple days. I also set up my DVR to tape the new Dr. Oz show. I'm hoping that is good. I haven't heard about the new Fantasyland and Star Tours. I guess I should find out before 2013 since my princesses will be 8 by then. All though one of my DD's is more of a tom-boy. You could always come with us.

Vicky: Hopefully your sister will see you as an inspiration for changing her lifestyle. Good job that your longer runs this weekend didn't leave you fatigued.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy
