Tracey: That's pretty cool about meeting people who you have so much in common with. I see a couples weekend involving the Disney 1/2.... I don't religiously watch BL, but I love the quote: "Do you know what else is gonna be hard? EVERYTHING!" I think I'm gonna add it to my training mantras.
I do wish you hadn't mentioned the banana pineapple cupcakes; I so often con myself into thinking a cupcake is a reasonable serving size (and ignore the cake part.) Especially since cream cheese is dairy and so good for me.
I fully support your doing the St. Louis 1/2 if the timing and everything works for you. Isn't that odd how quickly we grow to love the distance thing? I credit part of it to doing a Disney race--we get absorbed in the experience and realize we like it and want to continue. At least that's the way it happened to me.
Vic: Vic, Vic, Vic! My answer to how are the Lean Meaners these days is, "Mean. Just mean."
Vicky: Only private classes? That's pricey! We've got lots of yoga classes around here, including at my gym, so it's kind of tough to choose. Those at my gym are included in the monthly fee, so I'd like to go that way. Unfortunately, I haven't found the right fit with those instructors' classes who fit my schedule. "Clean-ish"? Love that! I'm working on being clean-ish. And I too watched Lost and enjoyed the eye candy of a shirtless Sawyer. At least he was calorie-free.
Julie: I'm working on the XT, and remembering why I hate the circuit room. (I do not think most members know what circuit means.) I love Cheerios, and used to eat it daily! Lucky Charms? Not so magically delicious for me. I guess I like my cardboard Os. And how's your lean-meaness coming along?
Beth: I really like the earning points in your BL challenge for doing healthy things like taking vitamins, getting enough fiber and exercise, drinking water. And the switching it up? I think you could market this idea! I thinking of adapting it to mesh with Cindy's healthy-living checklist. I could earn points that that allow me a special treat.
Susie: Love the logic you're using to convince Jeanne to do the Goofy! Don't wait for tomorrow! Go for the brass ring (or gold Goofy) today! I do hope your MRI helps eliminate a meniscus tear. Ouch. And that you get the goooood drugs.
Jeanne: Goofy, Goofy, Goofy.
Jeff: Are you sure your fortune was written just for you by Panda Dave?
Chris: Eating healthy is always the toughest battle for me. Woo hoo for eating better!
Maria:
for the good news on the scale! That's awesome! It sounds like the eating and exercise are on track, and so it's always gratifying to see it pay off. I'm not sure I understand the concept of weight-loss yoga?? I'm always interested in yoga for strength and flexibility, stretching my muscles and sometimes my patience (meditative states do not come easily to me). Weight-loss yoga seems like a whole other set of poses I'd be unable to master.
Cindy: What's this week's distance? And how's your checklist coming along?
Mike: Any new news from your doctor on the knee and surgery? How's IM training going?
All other lean meaners, present and future:
As for me: Down one pound this week. Whoopee. Not convinced it's real. BF% stayed the same. But I can say that, for the most part, I made healthier choices. And my food scale is no longer dusty.
I'm also happy that I'm getting a variety of XT in, much more so than before marathon weekend. I'm taking it slow, though. And pilates is rougher than I remember--I'm basically starting over, and modifying the routines for my neck/back, just to be sure.
