Beth: Oh, but I want to do as you do!

I'm working on the daily exercise thing, and your posts help me with what currently is a less-motivated cycle. One step forward, 1/2 step back for me, you know. So not only am I encouraging you--because I love seeing your progress for you--but it's selfish of me. I benefit from good examples and mentors!
Good to hear about Nancy. She's a strong, strong woman.
DOOD and I were toying with the RnR Chicago 1/2, but now it looks like my parents will be visiting that weekend on their way to visit my brother, my SIL and what will be my new niece. Too bad, as it sounds like a fun event. Hot, but fun. And I enjoyed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It sounds like you've got a themed weekend!
And great progress with the running and scale. And resisting the temptation to count the post-run weigh-in. That's especially strong.
Cindy: Ah, the carb comfort foods. I understand: for me it's illness, stress, boredom. Love the carbs. I have to confess that my Jillian workout/eating plan scares me! But June is the easiest month for me to shake up my workouts and eating, as DOOD will be gone. (It's amazing how much my routines fall by the wayside in mid-May, when he's around all the time. Underfoot, like my cats.

)
Hey! I guess I didn't realize you had a tri coming up.

Details!!!! (Oh, and woman-up.

)
Vicky: No owing on the emails.

I'm just glad to hear how things are going. Thanks for the suggestion on the Thai sauces--NOW I read about it.

(And the sauces is one of the things I love about Thai food.)
Star Trek, Abrams, and time travel--LOL! I said the same thing.
About your race, I was almost sure the end of the month was when it was. But it's funny--I keep thinking Memorial Day is the last weekend of May, and so my calendar's been all off for weeks; I'm actually traveling to Stratford next weekend not this one, for example. So I thought I'd check on your race. Good luck on this weekend's LR and, post-race, I'd be interested in hearing how Higdon's plan works for you.
I'm glad to hear the flaxseed's not a hard adjustment with your oatmeal. DOOD and I found the same thing, although we don't put nuts in ours. (Sounds yummy.)
Kim: I just noticed your Goofy ticker. That's fabulous! It sounds like you, Vicky, Dave & Erica will have a great time on the upcoming race! (And beforehand.)
Julie: Great to see you here and back on the bandwagon. No apologies necessary, just good to know you're doing well. And where else would you eat the Magical Lucky charms if not in the World? It's really fitting, don't you think?
As for me: Let's see... No weight loss this week, just a maintain I wish I could say I was surprised. Part of it is the hydration issue--I've been really bad about water again. So that's a priority today and we'll see if I can adjust my eating this weekend. Wednesday's Thai food went fairly well--much better than the films. I ate a Pineapple Tofu salad, or 1/2 of it, with a lime dressing. It was good, but very salty, and it meant no rice. We were supposed to have fresh spring rolls, but they brought out fried and I was too weak to resist.
I did take a rest day yesterday, and my knee feels better.

I walked about 4 miles yesterday--had to go to the main library--but not hard or fast, and that felt good. At the library, btw, I picked up two things:
1) Free passes to an advance screening of Disney/Pixar's
Up, which shows next weekend. Yay for free movies & a packed, excited audience!
2)
Skinny *itch, which has received a lot of buzz for promoting its vegan lifestyle and its attitude. Well, you know how I love my drill-sergeant mantras and snarkiness? I put the book down after 20 pages. Too much, too much. It wasn't telling me anything I didn't know, and I didn't like its tone and its use of profanity as central to its cleverness. (And believe me, I'm not opposed to profanity). So, there's my 2-cent review of the book.
