Weight loss for Wishers and becoming Leaner Meaners!

:cheer2: Happy, Happy, Friday, Friends!:cheer2:

Lisa...I tend to be pretty anal myself, this is why it's so strange that I haven't made ressies yet. So, where will you be celebrating your birthday dinner?
Stacie...how exciting that you're thinking about starting a family. I had my first baby at age 24 and my last at 36 and there are advantages to having a baby at any age and yet, there is no perfect age.;) Thanks for sharing with us.
Vicky...:bday: belated! I love Boma, too, but we haven't tried Cali Grill yet.
I have heard that too much Green Tea can be hard on your intestinal system.
Lynn...I've heard the Earl of Sandwich is really good. Do you have a favorite there?
Panda...Ohhhhh, we have "the stick"! At least one of us says every week that it's been one of our best purchases ever!;)
Jeff....Aloha!Let me say, that when you say you took a Diamond Head Crater run....I feel really envious! I'm so happy for you, but so sad that I had to run on a traffic infested road! Like you always say, "Someone has to live there, it might as well be you!":goodvibes
Jeanne...We've eaten at Captain's Grille and the food is really yummy!
Margie...Oops, I should've clarified, my 5lb goal is for the month of October. I'd like to lose another 15lbs after that. I just wish it was easier;) .
Maria...sorry about co-irker problems again.
Amy...WTG on the weight loss! It makes it alot easier to keep up with a little runner when you're in better shape, doesn't it? I am thankful everyday when Timmy runs up the hill into the neighbor's yard that I can run up it, too.
Everybody else....
It's a busy Friday here, the dog needs to go to the vet, kids to school, 5 miles for me, the little guy is going to Grandma's (hopefully), loads of laundry, ya da, ya da, ya da! Tomorrow we head to IL for the Border Wars Cross Country Run for DS. Have a great weekend my friends and stay strong!

You all seem busy on this fun friday!

Stacie: Good luck with the baby front! I had my first when I was 30.....so, I don't know the advantages of being a younger mother! I am the old one of the mom group.......let's just say the kids need clarification if I am actually 'mom' or grandma! (just ain't right!) No matter, it's worth all the work and effort! The kids keep me young!

Amy: I don't envy the age......she will run you ragged! It's one of those ages you don't think will ever end......but boy, you will get your workouts in! ;)

Jeff: You just keep speeding along! I envy you.......

Jeanne: How's the marathon training????? I hope things are going well.

Wagon Tip of the Day: Sugar-free jello........I know dumb, but I love it! I feel like I am eating dessert, but it is only 10 calories a serving! I do 'cheat' and get the pre-done cups in the dairy isle.......I like having a ready single serving at hand. I eat one at lunch every day!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. I posted on page 1 and haven't had a chance to get back until now. Last week, DD9 was sick with a cold and/or allergies. She got better, then DS7 came down with strep throat over the weekend. So far, the baby has remained healthy, and I pray that he stays that way. I promise to read all of the posts I missed, but that might take a while, so I just wanted to say hi :wave2: and let you all know that I still want to be on the wagon!

Congrats to all of you who have lost some weight. :thumbsup2 I don't weigh myself because I hate getting caught up in the numbers. However, I do feel that my clothes are getting a tiny bit looser, and even my DH commented on that the other day. :cool1: Hopefully, I'm headed in the right direction. I still have a hard time resisting junk food.

I see that lots of you are talking about favorite WDW restaurants. Ours is Jiko. Even the kids love it there.

I hope to catch up more soon. Sunday is my very first race and I'm extremely nervous, so if you have any words of wisdom or some race pixie dust, please send it my way! Thanks. :goodvibes

Have a great week, everone!

:cheer2: Go, Julie, Go, You'll do Great!:cheer2:

I went out for a quick 3 mile run yesterday. My foot held up and I think it might be getting better! Yay! I'm planning on running tomorrow and Sunday so we'll see what happens.

Julie - I'm another person who doesn't bother with the numbers either. Actually since I started running, I haven't actually lost much weight but I have gone done a few sizes! Good luck with your race this weekend! I usually find some people to chat with before the race starts. It usually helps with my nerves. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do great!

Jeff - Did I just read you skipped the desserts at Boma?? Just kidding!!

Amy - It could be the shoes. I got knee pain from running in an older pair of sneakers during the summer. Apparently I forgot that I run like an elephant and so the cushioning on my shoes tends to go quickly. Won't make that mistake again :goodvibes

Dave - I love my Stick!

Stacie - Good luck with the family planning! I don't have much advice to offer since I'm not a mom yet.

Jeanne - I have a lunch ressie for Y&Y in January. I'm glad to hear you liked it :)

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Jeff - Did I just read you skipped the desserts at Boma?? Just kidding!!

Vicky,

I'm not a "sweets" person as far a desserts go. Ice cream yes. Cakes, pies, etc. no. An occassional creme' brule' or chocolate moose, but only if I'm in the mood.

Sugar takes a lot of running to burn off. I'd rather be golfing.

Jeff, I don't care for ice cream. I often feel like 'What a Waste' of calories when I do eat something that I know I shouldn't, but :confused3 I still do it.

Foot/ankle is better, swelling is down, but there will be no walking. Today I am fighting the urge to have a 'Pity Food Party' with me as the only guest! I have no idea why I purchased all those bags of Halloween candy so early. No, at this moment they are still all tightly sealed -

Hi All,

Well, I ran my half marathon today and it was great! :cool1: I'm still on Cloud 9. It was such a rush crossing that finish line!

I did celebrate by eating some really good chocolate covered caramels, but tomorrow I'm back on the healthy eating wagon.

Good morning, all!
Julie....WTG you did it! Now, where are the details?;)
Beth...sf jello can be a lifesaver! I love it with a little bit of whipped cream. Yum!
Vicky...I'm like you, the weight is really not moving a whole lot, but my clothes are looser.

Three miles for me on Sat. (didn't wear a watch), Jake ran a 16:29-5K at his race:banana: , DH and I went out to Maggiano's for dinner (super yummy, but WAYYYYYY too much food), and then didn't feel like doing my long run on Sunday, but went ahead and did 6 1/2 on the treadmill in 67min (that's a long time to be on a TM, but I watched The Notebook to pass time.) Today, it's Pilates, Girls on the Run, and a step class along with :laundy: , and cleaning! busy, busy, busy
Have a great day everybody! Check in so we know how you're doing.

Good morning Meaners. I am a little slow on the draw this morning. Feeling a little  with a stomach virus my kids were kind enough to share with me. It came on yesterday in the middle of my 8 mile run which turned into a run/walk but I made the full 8 anyway. I have lost 2 pounds in the last day due to lack of food but I am keeping up my fluids and even adding in a little Smartwater and Accelerade to keep up the electrolytes.

On the whole, I have lost 1 pound which is monumentous now that I am down to the last 5 (or 4). So :woohoo: happy dance for that. I still need to clean up my eating a little. Snyders hot buffalo wing pretzel pieces are my downfall right now. I have to portion them out or I will eat the whole bag!! popcorn::

On Friday we met with our friends who did ToT with us last year. We reminisced about how we were in the final planning stages at this time last year. They are headed to WDW with their DD in February for the field hockey showcase. My DD is too young/too old for the teams going. It will be 3 more years before we can all go together again. Unfortunately, it may be our only trip together again for awhile. :sad1: This time it is with family. Wish me luck!!

Anyway, we went out to this awesome local restaurant with all organic local foods. I had portabella mushroom ravioli that was to die for. Oh and most exciting of all they put blueberries in my blueberry beer....love that!!! It was a great meal and just the right portion size. My DF had harvest ravioli that tasted like pumpkin pie inside!!!! Yummylicious food.

So, I am eating a little today, drinking a lot of good water and green tea with and without peppermint and hoping for a 3 mile run this afternoon. It is raining here still but pleasantly warm. It is supposed to snow while we are in WDW according to Accuweather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: My mom will be so ready to leave it will be scary!

Julie: :cheer2: :cheer2: Good for you but, yes, details.....
Margie: Hang in there. I hope you are feeling better still!
Bunnyfoo: Yay for getting better for you too! I hope you got your runs in.
Ice cream: Not a huge fan of sweets in general, except cheesecake...popcorn::
Connie: How goes yourself and DH?

Everyone take care and I hope to read your reports on fantastic weight loss soon. Keep working hard and we will make it there together! :grouphug:

Hi Everyone! Glad to see new faces and former faces. I was going to say old, but we dont' all fit in that category! Especially me!

This is just a drive-by, I have read your posts and I wish I had time to answer each one, but let me say, I envy making WDW and race plans, I am happy a baby is being planned, I hope you are all doing what's right for you! Just know that I am thinking of each of you.

DH had back surgery on Wednesday. He came through just great. Since he can't lift, bend, twist, push or pull anything, much of our care rests on my one shoulder. (Gosh, I hope IT doesn't fail!) He should be fully recovered in just 6 weeks. Somehow, that just doesn't seem fair to me. :confused3 I am in PT and I don't much care for it. Right now, it is all passive but I don't really like it. I think I could take my Physical therapist and her assistant in a fair fight with my one hand held in a sling.......but then who would take care of DH??? Gotta go! :grouphug: I miss you all.

Hello Meaners! Quiet around here, huh? I have been lurking and not posting......but have been doing well!

Connie: Nice of you to stop by! We missed you! How is your shoulder doing? I hear ya about PT......never sure if it's helping or not! Hope your dh does ok from the back surgery. You two are a pair, huh?

Lisa: How are you feeling? I saw that you were not feeling well......PD for you and the family!

Funwalker: I wish I didn't like ice cream! :headache: I never ran into an ice cream that I didn't like.......oh, I take that back.......teaberry! Yuck! But I think that's the only one in my 42 years that I didn't like!

My motivation to get this weight off has been carrying me through! I lost 7 so far......not bad! I hope to continue the streak!

Wagon Tip of the Day: Green tea. It's supposed to excellerate weight loss by increasing your metabolism. I do know that green tea is packed full of good anti-oxidants! So, bottoms up Lean Meaners!

Beth

Good going on the miles and minutes hitting the pavement everyone. Keep it up!

86 days to the family 5K, 87 days to the start of the Donald Duck Half marathon, and 88 to the Mickey marathon. I hope everyone's training is right on schedule. If not, here's a swift kick to your okole (rear end) to get it in gear.

If your nursing injuries, get well, and train smart. Don't overdo it and show up unprepared on race days.

As for me, I followed up Sunday's cruddy 20 mile run, with a excellent Tuesday 10 miler. 8:25 average pace. We skipped Diamond Head today, since the sun is setting much earlier. Not fun running in the dark, wondering if there is a crack or pothole in the sidewalk to trip or fall on.

Have a great week team.

P.S. Where did everyone disappear to???

I'm here! It's conference week....at school and with HS cross country....so it's busy around here.

Jeff...that's for the encouragement and reminders to keep on schedule. Sometimes, it would be easy to just put it off, but I feel so much better when I stick to the plan. :yay: for an easy 10 miler.

Lisa...hope you're feeling better

Beth...WTG on keeping those 7lbs off!

Connie....hope DH is still doing well and that you're feeling better, too. It's hard to be care-taker, especially when you have your own injury.:)

I ended up doing Pilates early Mon, followed with running with my girls at Girls on the Run (for an easy 2), and then step class at night. Yesterday, I didn't feel like it, but got my easy 3 1/2 miler in. Looks like the scale is moving again, but I'm not counting on anything for sure.

Hey, Everybody else.....where are you? We're missing you! Come back soon.

Hi guys!

How is everyone! I'm still around too. Mostly just doing the same ol stuff. Working, working out...

Hopefully tonight I'll get in my walk w/ my mom...supposed to be 40 minutes. I've got 5 miles on the books for my LW/R this weekend.

Last weekend I did 4 miles. You know my plan has been to walk it and then each mile run 2-3 min. Well, on Sunday it was getting warmer outside and I was so ready to just be done w/ my workout so I did 3 spurts of running that last mile! Shows me it can be done. By the time the Half is here, maybe I'll run twice each mile instead of once. We'll see... I want to finish strong.

Marathon question... We are staying at the Poly on Fri / Sat night. I know the course goes by the Poly, but didn't know if I would be able to walk out and cheer folks on. Anyone know?

I think that's about it for me.

Happy training!

Stacie

I am still here, just have not gotten onto the computer in a few days! Got back into exercise routine this week after very little exercise last week - started with a 6 mile dog walk on Mon, yesterday did 4 mile walk and some floor exercises, today I plan on another 6 mile with the dogs - as long as my knees hold up!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to post to say hi. Really busy this week. My cold is on it's way out, just hope it hurries. The weather forecast for my marathon sounds great. Partly sunny and 58. Four more days!!

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Stacie

Stacie: great to be hearing from you again. The Poly is one of the BEST places for cheering the marathon. First you can walk to the TTC which is around Mile 9. Then you just walk across the front of the hotel and out to the side there is a section of road just before Mile 13. Then you just hop on the monorail and you can meet people at the finish line. I think for the half marathon the TTC is around mile 4 and the Poly is just before 8, but that's off the top of my head. There are always lots of folks cheering at both places including many WISH scream teamers.
