Weight and Gogo elite....

I had talked to a scooter company one time because I was really close to the weight limit. He told me to not worry because the weight limit was actually a little higher than what was posted.

I am 185 lbs and rented the go go elite from apple during or last trip. I was only carrying my purse with me and I never made it all day withot having to recharge. Maybe it just had a bad battery..IDK :confused3

It sounds to me like a bad battery, unless you were doing 9-10 miles a day. According to Pride (the manufacturer) the max range on one charge is 10 miles. You were definitely within the weight limit so that shouldn't have caused a problem. With a bad battery the range could be very low depending on how much still charges. You probably could have called the rental company and gotten either a replacement scooter or a replacement battery.

If you (in the general sense of "you") are a opening to close person, it may be worth paying the extra for a scooter with a larger range. If you aren't sure what the range is, you can always search online for the model and you'll be able to find what the manufacturer lists as the max. I know Pride (who makes the Go-Go Elite, Victory 10, and some of the other commonly rented scooters) really strives to give ranges that are as close to "real world" as possible. The ways they test range include all sorts of surfaces, inclines, and as many other factors as they can think of. I think they run it through "obstacle" courses with the different terrains as part of the test. I don't know how other scooter manufacturers figure out range, but my guess would be they run it through similar testing.
