What is your weekly grocery bill? Setting this up as a poll to afford privacy to those who want to reply but wish to remain anonymous.

I swear our weekly amount has nearly tripled with sons playing football this fall - all they do is eat!

wow - I'm shocked to see I voted the lowest so far 150-200 range. I just can't get it lower. I thought I was way over spending. Thanks guys. Can't wait to show DH this poll. I'm not the only one spending a ton on groceries.

Oh my gosh. Someone spends over $500 a week?! That's more than $2,000 a month. What the heck are you buying? Or do you just have a huge family?

Me, DH, and DS5. $75-80/week, and that includes pet food, cleaning supplies, and toiletries.

Two of us, plus two very hungry cats (they're on diets). $50-100/week, which includes pet care, household supplies, toiletries, etc.

Two adults, just food/beer/wine (not including paper, cleaning, or grooming products) I try to keep it around $75 a week. Sometimes we're over, and sometimes we're under. We also live in a high COL area and eat most of our meals at home - we bring lunch to work, and only go out to eat once or twice a month.

Football is the worst. Big kids who play football will you out of house and home. Nothing like it...unbelievable.

When I order at McDonalds for DS who plays, his standard order is 2 Quarter Pounders and 3 XL french fries. Plus, he eats some fruit from home and will have dessert. And you can bet the farm that he'll be back in a couple hours for more food. He'll eat 2 cans of soup, four grilled cheese sandwiches and a heap of green beans...and ask for more. DS that is in college now once ate an entire medium pizza and went to the pantry to see what else was available.

And neither of those boys has an ounce of fat on them...solid muscle.

If you've got boys in football, take a second on the house so that you can feed them. :teeth:

We spend $150-$200 every week and a half and that is for four. I can't imagine what it will be when my youngest starts to eat all table food.

LOL, no doubt!

We're in the $400-$450 range/week for the 5 of us and one dog.

I spend about $100 every two weeks for a family of 4. That includes toiletries and paper goods, too.

Wow. I just can't imagine spending $400 a week on groceries. I don't think I could if I tried! What do you buy?

Maybe for comparison purposes, the question should have been: how much PER PERSON PER WEEK. Take weekly grocery bill & divide by # of people in the house. And some how adjust for pets. But too late now.

Around $70 for 2 people & 1 cat & that includes all cleaning supplies, HBA, cat food....... everything. DH buys lunches at work however. I eat lunch at home.

I REALLY want to here from the over $400.00 a week people!

100 to 150 a week here. That includes everything (food, cleaning, sundries) even 'take out' for 3 adults one 12 year old! My area is very reasonable with all these prices!

I noticed that Meat & Produce prices have increased big time!!!!

Doing it that way (DH, Me, DS-13 -skinny kid, DS3) and not counting our dog (lab), I'd guess we spend about roughly between $20 and $30 a week per person.

No joke......I wish someone would have warned me earlier. I grew up in a house full of girls and had no idea how much boys could eat. My boy-boy twins (15) are eating me out of house and home. Stepson 12 isn't much better. I think he might actually eat more than the twins. The boys have 8 of their friends over this afternoon playing video games and I don't think we'll have anything left in the fridge or pantry when this is over with! They're having a video game tournament......I think I'm going to charge an entry fee next time! :teeth:

Last week after the football game, I picked them up from the school and the first thing they asked was "what's for dinner?" I said, "I thought they fed you all before you came home." We were at the game too so we just ate sandwiches when we got home. They said, "they did feed us but we're hungry again!"

Well i said $50 because you asked what my grocery bill was each week. If we were talking about food in general it would be much, much higher, as we eat out almost every night of the week (never ever fast food!) and pet food comes from the vet not the grocery store in our home so I did not count that either. Same goes for all skin care products ect.... And living in Pa all beer ect cannot be bought at the grocery either ....sooooo?

So really all I buy at the grocery is breakfast items.

But I don’t think that really answered the question did it?

I included everything we'd purchase as a "grocery item" in my $400-$450 (food, produce, paper/plastic products, cleaning, wine, beer, pet food).

for me and dh we spend about $70/week for groceries/cleaning supplies/toiletries.
