Weekend vs Weekdays? Does it matter anymore?

I know the general idea is that weekdays are slower than weekends... but does that hold true anymore? At least does it hold true enough to plan around? It seems like Disney does a lot to "flatten" crowds so that it's always roughly the same. I'm sure that Epcot is generally busier on weekends, particularly during festivals (though when is it not a festival nowadays), but as a general rule, would you modify your travel dates to minimize weekend days at the parks? Or is that a waste of effort?

I think it's been pretty even since re-opening in Jul 2020. It might change a big weekdays - weekends but I don't think much. Park reservations even things out a bit more than in the past.

These are only my personal thoughts though, nothing to support it. :)

Last time we were there in mid-October, we went to MK on a Saturday and then again the next Thursday. Thursday was easily 3 times busier than the previous Saturday. As far as I know there was no rhyme or reason to it. I think that crowds aren't based on days-of-the-week and/or just random now and for a while in the future. Maybe forever.
