Weekend Posting War

so who is going to the WWOHP Party?

Val & I are going.

Can't decide about where to stay though. May book a package through DU, but even then I'm not sure I want to spend 3 nights at a Universal hotel when I'm just going to have to drive down to WDW every day. Decisions, decisions.

Middle day of a 3-day weekend. For some reason I'm up early. Eyes opened at my usual workday wake-up time (5:30). How come on real work days I just want to sleep? :coffee:

Strange, I wonder where :crutches: is?

Those folks on the left coast better watch out today - Pete's coming to town! Along with Walter, John & Kevin of course.

Val & I are going to have to do one of those DL ABD trips. Unfortunately all my vacation time is fully allocated this year. Unless I retire.....

Un-related to anything else here, Val & I were at WDW last week. We were taking the (slow) boat from the Studio to BWV (where we were staying) and had planned to just get off at the Swolphin and walk over to BW. (Before you ask why we didn't just walk in the first place, it was just for a change of pace.)

So, here we are thinking how smart we are for realizing this is a quicker way of getting to BW than doing the whole Studio>Swolphin>Yacht>BW route when the CM gets on the PA and tells everybody that is going to BW that they may want to do that because its quicker.

Next thing you know there won't be any secrets left. :3dglasses

Val & I had dinner at Il Mulino last Sunday with a couple of the podcasters and I have to say that it was a really good meal. You must try one of their appetizer pizzas. Yum!

I see that there are advantages to waking up early on the weekend and having a posting party to yourself! :thumbsup2

Yes, there sure is. It allows us to try to catch up to Skip. :surfweb:

I'm right there with you. 5:30am this morning, DH and I were wide awake. So was our big dog, laying between us thumping his tail.

I feel like I just don't have the sleeping in power that I used to, you know? :confused3

We've been out to the park with the dogs, now DH and I are off to Trader Joes. Then I'm coming home and packing for my trip tomorrow! :cool1:

Morning all.

Jeff, I believe you can stay on DIsney property as well. You just have to book through DU. We are probably going to come down Fri-Mon for a quick adults only trip, so we are thinking about saving some $ and staying at Pop.

Curious .... Does anyone else bring their own food on the plane? I did it when flying back from Florida in January and it was really easy. It felt really nice to be enjoying hummus, almonds, bread and tomatoes while everyone else was eating potato chips. :)

I'm off to the store to get some snacks for the plane now. Hopefully it will be as easy to get my food through Newark as it was MCO.

Not a bad idea Scott. Since we are using a bunch of DVC points in October, it may be better for us to book Pop as well. I'll have to look into that.

We do that sometimes. If its a morning flight, we'll take a bagel with us. For an afternoon/evening flight we will buy a sandwich in the airport and split it.

Of course that all assumes we don't get upgraded to 1st class. :rolleyes1

1st, I'm jealous of your trip!
2nd, We try to bring food on the plane. I'm not always organized enough to have a good selection but we certainly bring snacks.

I really want to go but I'm not sure we can. I *think* that my boss has his time share starting that weekend. If he's away, I can't go. It's annoying because that weekend is our anniversary so it would be nice to go. I was thinking about going Thursday evening and coming home Sunday night. Kids could miss one day of school (2nd grade, kindergarten, and preschool) and then we'd just hire a sitter for the party.

<chuckle>

Can you believe that we fly enough to get "status" pretty much just from our WDW trips. Add a couple of other trips, like to Houston to see the grandchildren, or DC, or ... and we fly over 25K miles in a year.

We usually have good luck upgrading to/from Orlando because most of the fliers are the casual vacation fliers, not road warriors.

Pam never leaves home without snacks. Back when you could bring liquids I once hauled a Snapple to LA and back for her because she might get thirsty.:rotfl2:
