Weekend Getaway

My husband and I are going on a weekend getaway at the end of July. We can't decide where to go. We live near Dayton Ohio and are wanting to drive no more then 5-7 hours away. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advanced!

My husband and I just went to Chicago last weekend! We had a blast. We went to the Navy Pier one night and it was really nice. Lots of shops and restraunts. They have a big ferris wheel too. It took us a little over 5 hours to get there from Columbus

Have you thought about going up to Sleeping Bear DUnes, Traverse City, or anywhere in Western Michigan? We love it up here. So beautiful. We used to live in Columbus, and would do atleast one long weekend a year up here. Lots of fantastic little coastal towns with cute shops, gorgeous beaches. Lots to see. Of course, there is always Hocking HIlls, or even Indianapolis can be fun. Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is probably about that distance from you. We just got back from a weekend there. Have fun whatever you decide!

What kind of vacation are you looking for? Shopping and sites? Beach and recreation? Hotel or Camping? Amusment parks?

Louisville.

It's close to you. It is pretty. There is bourbon and baseball.

Seriously we drove the bourbon trail about 4 years ago and had a blast. My husband really loved Louisville Slugger Museum and Maker's Mark.

We also stayed in a cabin owned by the Kentucky State Park System. It is a really nice park system and was inexpensive. It was essentially a small house at the Audobon Park. I think it was $110 per night.

We aren't looking for any kind of trip in particular. We are going to Datyona Beach in August. Just looking to take advantage of a long weekend while the kids are and Grandma's house! Thanks for the ideas. I'm looking them up now.
