Weekend Days in June: DL or DCA??

Hi All:
Another WDW vet who is planning a June 2014 trip to California. We are planning to arrive on a Wednesday and spend Thurs - Monday at Disneyland Resort (five full days). I am currently trying to schedule out what we should do each day. I have been told that a lot of locals visit Disneyland on the weekend. Do they tend to go to Disneyland park or California Adventure?

Should we plan Fantasmic and World of Color for weekday evenings or weekend evenings? Does it matter?

We are there during two scheduled Grad Nights at California Adventure. Should we avoid that park during those days and do Disneyland instead? Or, will everyone else have that same idea?

On average, will both parks be noticeably more crowded on Saturday and Sunday?

Any insight or advice is much appreciated.

In the summer, you'll find both parks to be busy. The advice about locals pertains a lot to do with the AP holders. The SoCal and SoCal Select APs are blocked out for most of June, so they don't impact crowds as much. This means that both Sat and Sun tend to be busy with day guests. Given that, there are crowds in both parks.

Should we plan Fantasmic and World of Color for weekday evenings or weekend evenings? Does it matter?

I would probably pick Fantasmic for a weekday night and then FP WoC for a weekend night. I only say this because there is a chance that the weekday crowds might be slightly less than the Fri/Sat/Sun crowds and Fantasmic is first-come-first-serve. At lest WoC, there are FP for viewing areas (it's still first-come-first-serve within the viewing area).

Grad night guests have access to both parks during the day. So you'll find grad night crowds in both parks.

On average, will both parks be noticeably more crowded on Saturday and Sunday?

I think both days will be crowded during the summer.

With the way APs and blockouts work, Sunday is likely to be the most crowded day.

I agree with Figment and would add that I think I would plan to spend evenings at DL when there is a grad night at DCA. On weekends I would plan more entertainment and less rides. I would hit rides hardest on Thursday all day, Friday during the day, and Monday all day.

With five days you will be fine, especially if you can get to the parks most or all days for rope drop.
