So my wife and I are planning a trip to disneyland for December 17th-21st... This will be our first time during the holiday season and I was just wondering how the crowds are around this time. When we hit the parks (land and world) we always get there at rope drop and stay until close without leaving park so leaving and coming back shouldn't be a problem. We have been during spring break, mid June and first week of August, just never during the holidays. Also, anything I shouldn't miss out on during this time of year? Anything I should plan on? How is the weather during this time of year?

"WELCOME" to the Disboards, jbravo78!!!

The crowds begin to pick up in December anytime after mid month, but don't let that discourage you!

While that week will be busy, it won't be as busy as the two weeks after that---the week of Christmas steadily gets more and more crowded, but the week after is even worse(there are those who still love it though---you just have to know what you're going into.)

The Parks are so beautiful in their Christmas decor, and we find the weather to be lovely(we like cooler temps though, and don't mind if it sprinkles/rains---so keep that in mind).

We really enjoy the Holiday Time at Disneyland Tour---you get the tour, get to go on a few attractions, and then you get reserved seating(two rows) for the Parade, which is fantastic---no camping out for a seat for two hours!

You also get a tour specific pin, and a treat and hot cocoa while you watch the parade.

Keep an eye on SherryE's Christmas Super Thread---she's the Queen of all things Christmas, and the Thread is jam packed with information, ideas, experiences, and beautiful photos!:santa:

Great thanks! We had friends that were there on Christmas day 2013 and they said it was crazy, but still fun. We thought the week before would be best. Thanks for the info and ya we don't mind cooler temps... Living in Idaho during the winter it will still feel like summer to us :)

I second the holiday tour. My family/group loved it (we range in age from 65 to 5) and would do it again if going to DLR for the holidays.
As said, it's crowded, but doable. We love Christmas time at the Merriest Place on Earth!
