I'm planning on surprising my husband with a weekend alone (the first without the children in 4 years) in January. ;)

We generally stay at our home resort of VWL, since with the little ones we like the quick access to MK. But in this case, I was hoping to try a different DVC, and maybe try some of the more adult things Disney has to offer -spas, fine dining, shows...(I'd love any suggestions on not to be missed activities!)

Any suggestions on the "best" DVC for an "oh my gosh we're finally alone vacation"? I was thinking of SS, OKW, or BW. Any pros/cons/opinions with those choices? Also, is booking a studio difficult in January? (we typically book within the 11 month window--will I be able to get something at 4 months out?)

Thanks for any input!!!!

All I know is where ever you go it will be great. By the way can you give my DW a call.......Its been 6 years for us.

BW you can walk out your door and still do stuff along the BW...

that say I think I would pick Oct or Nov - the food/wine food festavial was made for adult outtings....

hope you get to go!!!

I'm curious as to which weekend in January you were planning on going to Disney - the Marathon weekend tends to book up in advance but other weekends should be open at most (if not all) DVC resorts.

The resort you stay at really depends on the type of people you are. My husband and I like to be around other people and have a good time, so BWV or BCV would probably be our first choices. We like to come back from a park and walk around the Boardwalk. You could also stay at SSR or OKW for their laid back atmosphere and proximity to DD. I would probably recommend Congress Park at SSR. We had a gorgeous view of DD from our balcony!

On the other hand, VWL is a wonderfully, romantic resort. I love the woodsy, state park theme, but it reminds of home. When we go to Disney we like to stay at something that doesn't remind us of home so we usually stay at OKW, BCV, or BWV.

I'm thinking maybe the weekend of JAN. 15th or 22nd (depending on my mother in law's avilability to babysit-- she said she'd rather sit the weekend of martin luther king day, so she wouldn't have to take a day off). When is the marathon?

We're looking to get out and about while we are there and experience the Disney we don't usually get to see with 3 kids under 5 --maybe see a show, late fireworks, good dinners... I thought BW would be great for that. We've also never made it to DD, so thought maybe SSR or OKW might be fun. I wasn't sure whether January was like early December in that if you don't book early, you're out of luck.

I wish we could go alone during F&W, but we already have a week booked in October for the whole family. (Boy would my little ones cry if I told them I was leaving them home this year!?!)

I'm not sure, but I think OKW has the largest jacuzzi tub for two.

Try BWV, you will love it there.

Wow! :teeth: A weekend without kids! :thumbsup2

I would pick OKW. It is a little bit more for adults. Get a one-bedroom villa if you can. The rooms a very spacious. :sunny:

I think Simba's Mom is right about the tub size.

Have a romantic trip! :love2:

DTD has lots of very nice dining/adult nightlife. PI is one thing we can't do because of the ages of the kids - but would enjoy if we went for a couples vacation! Cirque Du Soliel would be a nice show for two :) . I know the SSR spa menu offers services for couples.....

Wherever you stay, I'm sure it will be a lovely vacation.
