Weekend after Thanksgiving

I would not count on "late fall 2019" being middle of december. I would think that they would want to get that thing up and running before a week or two before the busiest week of the whole year. I know technically winter is not until December 21st but I would guess they mean more like November than September and not "as close to christmas as humanly possible." but with delays who knows!

Right now I'm just crossing my fingers for a December open to Star Wars, because it would be better for me, lol. Once they announce the actual date, I'll reevaluate. If it opens before December, I'll probably cancel my 2019 trip and go spend a long weekend in a cabin in the snow instead, returning to Disney in 2020 sometime. I have no desire to be in the Star Wars madness.

i just got back and have to say for this first timer at this time of the year I thought all of the parks were very crowded. I would say in my mind the crowd levels were more like a 6-7. It was so crowded that I would think twice about going that time of year again.

ADR’s were tough to get and some hotels were to capacity, but honestly, to me, I felt the crowds were better this year than the past two.

We did DHS Friday the 23rd, MK Sat the 24th, Epcot the 25th

DHS was busy but not as bad as I was expecting. MK was manageable using the train & Fp's during the day but at night it was pretty miserable (we waited 30 minutes for Peoplemover, ha). We had the HEA dessert party booked so I'm glad I got to see it but I won't be doing that again. Going on a party day you should be fine!

Sunday the 25th at Epcot was great. We got a 4th FP for Test Track and zigged while everyone else zagged and were in The Seas when it was almost completely empty about an hour before park close.

I did MK the 26th (and DAH), AK the 27th (prior to the party), Epcot the 28th, DHS the 29th and MK the 30th.

MK on the 26th was crazy but I was expecting that because it was only 1 of 2 non party nights. I was doing After Hours so it got A LOT better during that.

AK the 27th was manageable except for Pandora. It was so crowded you could barely move it was very underwhelming. The Safari was backed up too, I had a FP and still waited 30 minutes in line. Expedition Everest is my new favorite attraction in all the parks. Single rider line I waited 2 minutes each time. I rode it 4 times in a row.

Epcot was good except for parts of World Showcase that got jammed up.

DHS was a massive letdown. Park was so crowded it was difficult to move around and Toy Story Land was miserable. They also cancelled Fantasmic due to technical difficulties so that didn't help with my impression of the park overall.

I'm glad I got to go at Christmas to see all of the beautiful trees/decorations but I would never go this time of year again.
