Weekday Select Annual Pass & Magic Bands

We were looking forward to using the magic bands for our GDD's first trip and not have to worry about the cards, but we are under 30 days and haven't received our bands.

I have been able to book fastpass+. So we have those taken care of.

I called Disney and they said that we have to activate the passes before we can go and customize them and then we will get them in the mail 7 to 10 days later. This will be after our trip since we have to activate them on this trip.

I am bummed. I was so looking forward to using the bands. Being able to let my 4 yo GDD have her own band and tap it to get in. With the cards, I just don't feel comfortable having her hold it.

We are not staying at a Disney Resort. We are staying at Shades of Green.

Anyone know if this is the actual policy because I have heard a couple of other people say that I was given wrong information. I am going to try to call back tomorrow morning, but until then, any other information would be helpful.

Because Shades of Green is not a Disney resort, you will not be sent MagicBands as part of your stay. If you have linked your AP voucher numbers to book FPs, you'll have to activate your APs when you arrive.

You can purchase a MB for your GDD to use and it will be linked to your MDE account at the store. If you don't want to purchase one, you can always tap her ticket at the tapstiles if you don't trust her using the ticket by herself.

That info that you were told is correct. Since you are referring to an annual pass you will need to activate it at the park first. When you go back into the MDE program and go into passes you will get a prompt to customize your bands and then you will be able to select them and they will be shipped to you. If you would like your grand daughter to have a band while at the park they do sell them if you want to go that route and then you can select a second band for her when you can customize them after the trip.

I contacted Disney again today and got a different story.

Apparently not long after we purchased our tickets they changed it to where you can customize and order your MB's prior to activating your AP's.

The CM that I talked to today actually tried to see if there was a way for us to get our bands prior to our trip. I guess it changed right around the time we purchased our AP's.

She talked to someone else and they tried but were unable to change it for us. I appreciated that she tried. She didn't have to make any effort at all, but she tried to give us a little extra pixie dust.

We will use our cards and I will help my GDD. She likes to do some things on her own and in some ways is mature for her age. We will just make sure that she hands it to me once we are done with it.
