We want to come to Disney again in March, but before Spring Break. We want to come a Wednesday-Saturday, visiting the parks Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday, and all day Friday. We'll head home Saturday.

I am thinking March 1-4 but have read there can be crowds due to Mardi Gras. We could also do March 8-11 but I feel that's getting close to Spring Break territory and we do not want to come during a busy spring break week.

Input?

I also read there there is a bit of a drop between Spring Break and Easter this year but I'm not sure about that either.... that would put us coming March 29-April 1.

I believe there is also a cheerleading competition in early March. We have planned for March 7-12. I think it's best to be prepared for crowds, they will be there.

It's always crowded, when people say low crowds, they don't mean like the old days when it really was low crowds. go when it makes the most sense for the family and it'll be somewhre between 7 crowded and 10 crowded. 6 and under you can count on 1 hand the number of days that happens.

The problem with "spring break" is that it really has no definition. Colleges will have spring breaks all through March. Public schools will probably have spring breaks closer to Easter, but could be in March as well.

**************.net has the first week of March as the lightest crowd-wise of the times you have mentioned.

There are no real "slow" times any more. People are getting smarter and pulling kids out of school during those times. They can get 2x the vacation for 1/2 the price. Just plan to go when you can.

I have to agree with @shronabe that the first week is probably your best bet for the lowest of the march crowds.. still crowded, just lower than the others.

Okay! Thanks all. We know there are always crowds but hoping for the best. We were just there Dec 10-17 and had a blast.

Spring Break for our school - Penn State - is first full week of March. There's not going to be a week that isn't 'spring break' crowded until early May.

Another consideration is that Disney resort prices go up significantly (from "regular" season to "peak" season pricing) after March 9th. Peak season pricing may also be in effect for some table service restaurants too.
