Any idea how crowded things will be the week of September 7? (Any "rumors" about fewer resort reservations, etc?) Any info would be greatly appreciated!! TIA!! :flower3:

We'll be there also for that week. Sept. 6-14th.
There willl be plenty there for Free Dining!

We are there also from the 6th to the 11th. We have had some changes in our plans and haven't gotten our dining reservations changed. We still have two reservations that were originally for 5 people and we're now 7. We have been calling every other day or so to see if they have had any cancellations but so far, we're still out of luck. We have tried changing days and resturants and still no luck. I don't know about the parks, but it looks like the resturants are going to be very crowded.

Add our Grand Gathering of 13 +2 FL relatives during that time at the WL Sept. 6-13th.

We here at Dis know about Free Dining but most people don't. I work with someone that goes to Disney once a month and he never heard of free dining. The restaurants will be more crowded but the parks are awesome. Its the best time to go. Even without free dining we'd still go.

Don't worry too much about the parks. The restaurants will be booked due to Free Dining but the parks are still September empty (meaning, empty by Disney standards, not by real people standards!) Spetember is hot but historically not crowded. Have a great trip! :yay:

We'll be there too Sept 5th-13th at the CBR. We've gone 4 years in a row the week after labor day and although the restaurants are crowded because of free dining the park is not crowded. In years past we never waited more then 20 minutes for any ride and hardly ever had to use fast pass.

I can also vouch for early September - at least two years ago. This year we have to do last week of August.

Two years ago, (year two of Free Dining) the restaurants were VERY busy, but perhaps not insane as seems to be the case last year (according to others).

On the other hand, we stuck to the routine of get there (parks) early, eat lunch early, take an afternoon break, eat dinner early, return to parks at "normal" dinner hour - stay until kids need to go to bed.

On a five day park pass, longest wait was 15-20 minutes, and we used a FastPass ONCE! Never skipped a ride we wanted to see, and even road things like Soarin' and Test Track BACK TO BACK without waiting.

If we could go early September again - we would. We'll settle for last week of August - still slower (from what I've heard) but not like what you will experience.

Can ya tell I'm a little jealous? :upsidedow

Last year same week wait times were not longer than 20 minutes. We waited longer for the bus than for Soarin.

Esdras- I'll be seeing you at ASMU suites 8/29-9/3

Great to hear!! I was a bit worried about all the people & free dining. :thumbsup2

I wouldn't think it's so horrible. Due to a flight change by my airline I HAD :rotfl2: :cool1: to extend my vacation by another day today (September 7th.) Disney was able to add on an additional day of Free Dining Plan at Pop Century to my existing reservation, plus while I was on the phone they got me in for dinner at my top choice location on that additional day at 5:30pm. A lot better than I would have ever thought I would have done!

We've been going in Sept. since free dining began and we have definately noticed an increase in sept. crowds. There were some very crowded afternoons (60 min. waits at Soarin' and 40 or more minutes for Peter Pan). Still, most of the time it was still good and very manageable - way better than summer and holidays! It is still important to go in the morning as afternoons were when things got crowded. I went this past Jan. and found it slightly more crowded than Sept. I still think its the best time to go :goodvibes .

We will be there Sept 9 to Sept 14. I'm glad to hear the wait times are short. Hopefully the quality of food wont suffer because of crowded resturants.

DH and I have been going in Early September for the last 3 years and we like it...The parks will be a "little" crowded the closer it is to Labor day since it's the last chance for Kids to get in a vacation before they go back to school, but it's still not bad.
