This year our school district has two breaks. A few days of Easter and a week for Passover.

I have always avoided spring @ WDW.

What is the week of 4/24 considered? Spring Break?
How bad are the crowds? Is it manageable?

Or just skip it?

Thought many school districts have varying spring breaks so it may be worth a try.

Any thoughts?

Spring breaks are different all over the country, so I have never avoided the parks at that time. I'd say do for it and enjoy yourself.

Don't go during the 2 weeks surrounding Easter. Any other time during the spring is fine.

I have been there that week in 2013 and 2015. It was not bad, but definitely noticeably busier this time around than in 2013. I think I read somewhere that most East Coast schools (or at least NY/NJ) have late spring breaks this year...so it might be busier yet. We did notice a large influx of cheerleaders and their families but they didn't disrupt very much other than being part of the larger crowd. We were there 12 days and found the weekends to be far worse than the weekdays. We so enjoyed our November trip in 2008 due to weather, crowds, and Christmas...that we're moving our near term trips back to the late fall/winter time.

We had always avoided April because we were afraid of crowds, especially Massachusett's school vacation week (3rd week of April), but were at WDW the last two weeks of April 2015. Like someone else said, the crazy busy weeks are those immeditely before and after Easter. With Easter 2016 in March, the last week of April shouldn't be too bad. This past April on our trip, Friday-Saturday-Sunday were very busy (busier than the predicted crowd levels), but we found the weekdays to be much lighter.

We were there this past April - the week of the 26th. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. It had been 20 years since I had been to WDW so I don't have much to compare the crowds to but I guess I would call them moderate. Nothing too crazy, although some things felt a little crowded at times. If I were to schedule another spring trip I would check crowd calendars and spring break schedules and maybe tweak the dates by a week or two if it seemed it would make a difference, but it wasn't crowded enough to keep me away.

Easy WDW has this week listed as mostly 5-6. Sound incredibly doable to me...even if Josh is off a point or 2. It shouldn't be anything like Easter week. You SHOULD have moderate crowds and great weather.

spring breaks do seem to be all over the place these days.

We are going that week. We live on LI (NY) and even the schools across the island all have different breaks this year. I priced out Easter weekend vs the last week of April and it was drastically different. I'm hoping its "safe"!

I live in NYC. I always avoid going for spring break because of the crowds (which stinks, because I'm a teacher). This year, Passover and Easter are 3 weeks apart. Most of the country will have their break for Easter(late March/early April). NY public schools will hVe spring break the week of April 24, as we get the break for Passover not Easter. I've booked the POR as I am hoping this will mean thinner crowds this year:)

It depends . Most states get spring break around Easter, which falls late March (or first week of April?) this year.
In NYC, the public schools get spring break for Passover . Usually the 2 holidays are closer, but this year they are 3 weeks apart. For NYC, the week of 4/24/16 will be spring break, but most of the country will have finished their break by then.
