I am almost afraid to ask this question....but how bad are park crowds the week before Easter??
DD's HS orchestra will be playing at EPCOT for HS Music Days 4/8 (which is the Thursday before Easter)...I made a room reservation for us at the Swan (got a great rate with AP discount), but would rather stay at AKL or WL if something besides rack rates become available (not likely).

I am wondering if the crowds will be totally impossible in the parks?? Anyone with suggestions for things to do that might NOT be totally packed (can you tell how unthrilled I am that they are going that week??)

Just wondering, where is your son's group staying? Are they on property? Our family is going the week before Easter and staying at All-Star Movies. We are prepared for crowds. We were there last year at Christmas and did fine with the number of people. It did get more crowded after Christmas.

We've been there the week before as well as the week after Easter. Yes it is crowded, but if you have been before I think you will be ok. MK is the most crowded I found. As for the AP rates(or any other good discount rates) at that time of year, it has been my experience that they are very few and far between if at all. Easter is a very busy time at WDW and they really don't have to discount. We have never been able to find a discount, but I would advise you to keep looking, you never know. We have been there when our HS Band played and it is a wonderful experience. I know your daughter will have a great time. Don't worry, Disney is wonderful any time of year, just "go with the flow".

Have a Wonderful Vacation!!

Thanks for the encouragement...we go fairly often, so if we just hang out at the Swan and do some shows at EPCOT we'll be fine...I just hope the kids aren't overwhelmed. Most have never been before...I think they will be staying at All Star Sports, but may opt to stay off site if the price is significantly less.

If it isn't totally packed they will be fine.

Hi!
My son's HS band and choir will be playing at EPCOT on the 6th of April, so I will be there that week, too. His school is staying at the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird. I don't know why they aren't staying at a Value Resort.

I know the crowds will be terrible, but we have decided it can't be missed and since we were just there in October, if it gets too nuts we'll just head back to the resort or whatever. We are also going to do a couple of tours to help avoid that craziness.

Have Fun!!! And see ya there!

Lori

In April 2001 we went the week before Easter. So, we left Disney for home on the Wednesday before Holy Thursday. We found the crowds more bearable than in the summer. It did get busier right as we were leaving as people were coming for Easter. But the week before is much better. I don't know about this year, but then the parks were open late and the crowds left after the fireworks so we really enjoyed the park at that time-we were walking opposite the crowds. Carolyn
