Week before Christmas

We were there the week before Christmas last year. Early in the week, the parks were pretty empty. However, the weather was quite cold! We went to the park at 2pm because it had rained all morning. We rode everything we wanted to in IOA, including FJ and enjoyed WWOHP with no crowds. We walked over to US and also rode everything, no lines.
We even watched the Macy's Parade and stopped to take tons of pics.
As it got closer to Christmas, the crowds picked up considerably- WWOHP was just nuts and crowd control didn't exist.
I think if you plan to get out of dodge by the 21st you should have very manageable crowds (hopefully low). Have a great time!!!

Hey i am going a week before christmas to!!! I will proably go on a wdensday or a tuesday!!! but only for one day....but still my first for WWOHP!!

We are actually at Disney that week but are going to take a day and try to do as much as we can at US/IOA.

We're going to be there 12/8 & 12/11 & was wondering about the crowds as well and if we needed to buy the express pass so we could skip the lines or not. And also thinking about buying the meal deal as well but I heard if it's crowded it will be too long of a wait and not worh buying. But if the crowds would be low no need for the express pass and totallt worth the meal deal. Anyone have any thoughts on this??

Also, I wanted to go to Grinchmas and the Macys Day Parade but it's not listed on their site as when they are having it. Does anyone know when or even historically when they have it?

Much thanks-

Gen:)

For that time of year, you can get by w/o EPs but you should wait until you arrive to see what the lines are like. If they are too long for you, purchase the EP at either park.

Grinchmas is scheduled throughout the day...check the park map for the day you're there. You'll have plenty of chances to see it. The Macy's Holiday Parade is everyday at dusk in the Studios.

The meal deal isn't worth it unless your group likes to eat a lot. The parks close early in December so it might be hard eating dinner as soon after lunch. I would suggest bypassing the meal deal and trying some of the better places at both parks that are not on the meal deal like Thunder Falls Terrace at IOA and Finnegan's at the Studios. For dinner, try any of the CityWalk restaurants.
